BaD: In which I try once again to post every day

Since I last posted, I spent a good deal at work finishing up what I didn't want to attend to in the past 2 days. When I don't have enough time for gaming or catching up on films or tv (and good heavens, does the list for those keep growing), I'll always have podcasts to listen to. As a matter of fact, I've been considering posting about podcasts since (aside from music) they are a daily constant.

I support a couple of podcasts through their Patreon accounts right now. One is my favorite overall - Entertainment Landfill (formerly Nowhere In Mulberry) - and the second (which just opened an account) covers two podcasts: The Secret History of Hollywood and Attaboy Clarence! A podcaster from the UK created these two programs to cover the first 50 years or so of showbusiness in the U.S. and U.K. from cinema, radio plays, music and so forth. They're well-researched, well-produced and very affecting (his 3-part, nearly 16 hour series on Alfred Hitchcock is astonishing). So I'm sending him $5 every month and I'll get some perks every week as well (pdf files on research/further-reading on current and previous episodes, patreon-exclusive episodes) because I want the show to go on.

I planned to record a solo episode of my own podcast this weekend but I chose to spread my work over all the weekend. Who knows why. I suppose I wanted more sleep. I suppose that I thought I could finish the work quicker than I did. What's important is that the work was finished. My only problem with recording another solo podcast is having the time to prepare notes for it. And I've got several ideas but I need to do some research for them instead of just wing it. Others may have no problem with that but I'm not as good as just coming up with content on the fly.

Yesterday, I finally purchased a copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. One of my best friends works at the local Gamestop so I was able to catch up with her and I was happy to get a used copy for $40. I stopped at the Best Buy to look around and found that they have X-Men: Days of Future Past - The Rogue Cut on blu-ray for $10. Looking forward to finally seeing that as well. Hate that I had to double dip on that title but sometimes we fall for it.

Right now, I need to get cleaned up and prepare for yet another long night. The senior varsity teams are playing basketball again tonight and I'm hoping that the guy that I had to cover for over the weekend is feeling better (he's had upper back problems and had to sit the last 4 days out) so it doesn't just all fall on me again. There's probably more to mention but I'll save it for future posts. Take care, everyone!

I recall from some of your tweets that you're really into film.  Honestly, for a while I was kind of anti-film but I'm getting back into it.  I've even been imagining my own films, and had a dream one night I was shooting one with a Super 8 camera. I'm really into Kubrick, but I think my favorite new director is Paul Thomas Anderson. I thought the Master was especially good.  I'm really into Malick too.

Looking forward to the podcast, sounds like you're listening to some interesting ones.

I'm the same, I need to prepare instead of wing it.
