Day 2: Not So BaD

It helps having the extra time to prepare and despite not getting as much done in class as I wanted to, it went much more smoothly. Tech issues were to blame, not my preparation.

Anyway, I've been playing Vice City and it is leaps and bounds above GTA III in every way. Where GTA III was a grimy chore at several points, I'm really enjoying the 80s setting, tighter controls, MUSIC (emphasis added intentionally), characters, story, and an actual fucking map on the pause menu to reduce guess work (it is obscured but oh well). I'm a 90s kid and San Andreas is the most lauded in the series, so I'm looking forward to it, but there's something about 80s songs (Creature of the Night in particluar) that hits me on an emotional level. I guess this is where Rockstar really found their footing. Hell, I'm actually roaming around the map for fun. I felt no desire to do that in III, I just wanted it over with.

That's all for me, gonna watch episode 9 of Jessica Jones and hit the bed after I comment some of you.

I never knew just how many leaps and bounds it was beyond III.

I played the hell out of vice city.  One of the reasons I bought a ps2.

I guess III is really more of a cultural turning point than it is a game that truly stands the test of time, since VC was released only a year later and blows it out of the water imo.

Yeah that's it exactly man.

I have Vice City for the PS2. And Ive been meaning to fire it up since I just bought it late last year at a garage sale. And I also love 80s music. Lately it seems that's all Ive been listening to.

Not really interested in GTA games, but the music in Vice City did get my attention as I'm a child of the 80's.

The music is honestly a big part of why I like driving around in that game.

I still have a vivid memory of chasing down that pizza delivery guy on the scooter. Also, I bought that box set of music from the game. I love the radio DJ on the metal disc. That's some funny stuff.

Lazlo? He's in all of them since III I think. He is the Chatterbox DJ in that one. He also is in V as a Ryan Secrest type host of an American Idol parody.

Yea Lazlo. That stuff, plus the fake commercials, are still part of my gaming banter to this day.

Love this game, second to San Andreas as my favorite, and this was the first GTA game I played on the PS2. GTA III and GTA IV were the only ones I really didn't play. Maybe when I finally finished GTA V on the PS4 I'll go back and try them again.

Folks on here seem kinda down on IV, while I'm kinda down on III. Funny how the numbered ones are the less-liked by a few people.
