BaD 2016 #07: Shopping for Valentines is hard

I just spent the good portion of the night trying to find the right Valentine's Day gift for not just "teh wife" but also my "Little One". Normally I don't stress to much into getting something during this time of year, something I usually don't focus much on for a blog itself, but this year I want to make things a little bit special given our location change and the busy lives we lead. I'm trying to avoid the usual gift ideas that come to mind when it comes to the holiday. Jewelry, chocolates and flowers are out so that leaves me with some items I'm not exactly sure to go for. And as much as I'd like to get her a game for her 3DS I'm not sure that would fit the mood in what she'd expect.

But then again I'm not quite sure what she'd expect. I know she's told me to write her a simple love letter but I fear my attempts to do such would be so sappy/cheesy that it would come off as a comic gift than a heartfelt one.

My "Little One" is less of a worry given her age plus I fear she might not get much in the form of a valentine's due to the school she now attends. Either way I'm doing my best not to think too hard on the ideas. I still have time but do want to make sure the girls in my life to enjoy the holiday with heart than the materialistic aspects it can be.

Also I found out why my wireless mouse wouldn't work: It needed a new battery. The battery it had was too weak to transmit a signal. I feel so silly. Still Windows 10 is working out well for me. I'm even liking Cortana, even if she uses Bing all the time and isn't a hologramatic blue woman.....

A Halo fan can dream....

Cortana has some cool features, like when you asked about Christmas movies last year it would start a  trivia game.

nothing worse than when the wireless mouse runs out of batteries.

My wife and I usually just get each other a card and something cool but not expensive off Amazon for Valentine's Day. Then we buy clearance candy the next day lol.

Cars. Cars are good Valentine's Day gifts. Summer houses too. Yeah, a big ol' house. That's what I'm gonna do for that trashy hanger-on I got at the Casino yesterday. Maybe she'll leave me alone now. Tongue Out
