Since its almost time for the NBA All Star Game, here is five on five NBA Lego All Stars (it was damn impossible to find the Shaq and Kobe packs of these figures. Laker bandwagon guys were buying them out.) Anyways around 2003 Lego released a line of Basketball sets. The figures have springs in their legs so you flick them back, while the figures were holding a basketball and have them shoot at a basket. The NBA figures were released in 3 packs, and came with a display stand and a pack of four cards. Three regular cards, and one gold stamp version of one of the cards. This was perfect for me because I was getting back into Lego and I already had a decent collection of sports trading cards.

Currently Listening To: Metallica – S&M on iTunes

Pixlpeeps what is up? Guess what I’m using to type this latest edition of Quick Hits?

I got my laptop back from the good people of the local repair shop yesterday. Oh it feels good to finally type on the laptop I’m used to and not the mini laptop or my older PC laptop. Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful to have the backups but it just felt so odd to not have my laptop working. So what have I been doing during this time of a day and a half?

  • Using my little mini laptop as my main source of computer stuff
  • Updating my PC Laptop (I really need to install Photoshop and Illustrator on there) No work was done
  • Using my phone more as a way to get online
  • iPad use was still the same

I also spent more time at the local BBQ chain that apparently is everywhere and we just got one late last month, Dicky’s Barbeque Pit

The online ordering is awesome, but this time when I went there for lunch I decided to just walk in and it wasn’t crazy busy (it’s the only BBQ spot so they’re always busy) At some point I’ll start trying other things but for now my go to is Double Pork, with Mac & Cheese and some Cream Spinach. I also dig this spot because on the way out I grab a soft serve cone.

Chris Watches…

The People Vs. OJ Simpson – FX: I think this is the second or third episode and it’s the famous Bronco Chase. This show is just fascinating to watch and I’m already digging the portrayals of Marcia Clark, Johnnie Cochran, and Christopher Darden. Marcia not knowing who the Juice is, while smoking 10 packs a day indoors, all while living in LA is insane. Johnnie wanting nothing to do with this case because he said “he only deals with winners”, and Darden who is shown as a guy who is not part of the machine, but will eventually be pulled in. He seems like he is the only guy who can separate OJ the man, from the athlete.

Not really a fan of John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, and as much as I like Cuba Gooding Jr., OJ is a big guy and Cuba isn’t near the size of the Juice. Also we really don’t need the random shots of the Kardashian kids.

Bill Simmons hit it with some of the humor in the show.

Amazon Video – Amazon: I started streaming some episode of Thundercats for a couple of minutes. Nothing spectacular but the one thing I was impressed with was that I could download episodes to my iPad and watch it on the go. This would have been an awesome feature to know about when I had a flight to Hawaii last year. I’ll take advantage of this on future trips.

Chris Listens To…

Amazon Prime Music: Since I didn’t have my iTunes for a couple of days and I wasn’t in the mood to listen to the New CDs Playlist on my phone I decided more of Amazon Prime Music. Since its part of Prime Membership, I might as well get some use out of it, and I like it. I’ve been listening to a lot of the 80s Pop, and 70s Stations. Whenever a song that I like but don’t have in my iTunes library comes on, I add it to a playlist of songs that I want to eventually add to my library. So when I can get back to buying CDs I’ll have more stuff on my list.

So last week I was at 13,956 un-listened to tracks in my library. After syncing my phone, and my iPod my current un-listened to list stands at

I think I would have listened to another 100 songs but my laptop battery decided to break.

Pickups

I bought a battery for my laptop. This is my old one

Apparently one of the cells ruptured and was starting to leak acid. Again why did the dang thing have to be glued to the laptop body? Anyways I’m happy I have my laptop running.

It’s my weekend, the fair is in town, my cousin is getting hitched, so I’ll have a busy weekend, so I’m going to need to do some laundry…and maybe play more GTA V. Have a good weekend Pixlpeeps!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

For today’s song, Master of Puppets from S&M. Yeah listen to this while working out

Have a good weekend!

I apprecate Dirk being in your LEGOs, even though he is not in the All-Star game this year. S&M is a good choice as well.

Glad you got laptop back and LOL at Dickey's being "local." Definitely a big chain here in TX.. We abused the soft serve ice cream at the local Bullrito's so badly ... literally having contests who could stack highest.

The People v OJ does seem like it'd be unintentionally funny.

That's one strange lookin' battery ...

I forgot to add Dirk's hair piece. I just noticed that Dirk and Paul Pierce are the only two out of that group still in the League.

Thanks, and yeah I think I worded it wrong. I meant to say something along the lines of the big chain restaurant, which is the local spot, or something like that. I thought about getting a lot of soft serve but after finishing off the double pork I was done.

Oh it is. You can't stop seeing Ross playing Robert Kardashian, and when you saw Malcolm Jamal Warner as Al Cowlings, it seems everyone on Twitter had the same first thought: Theo Huxtable is helping Rod Tidwell.

Yeah the battery takes up the bottom section of the laptop and is different cells attached to each other by some wires. The crazy thing is the new Macbook Pro is at least 80% battery.

I got what you were saying, it's just funny hearing local and Dickey's BBQ in the same sentence, just like I'm sure you'd find it funny if you go to other places with only so many In N' Outs and people called them "local" chains. lol

That's a lot of battery!

replace the spinach with collard greens and you have a meal fit for a (Southern) gamer!

I try Collard Greens a lot, and each time I do they are just not my thing.
