With Episode 28 of Retro Rampage released, and episodes 29 and 30 trapped in post-processing-but-on-deck-for-release-soon, that 30th episode will mark the end of Season 2, and we'll be preparing for the third season. Since we love it here at PixlBit, and are using this as our second home away from home, we're going to give you some info on what we're planning on bringing to the table for the third season of Retro Rampage.

Before I jump into all that though, real quick I'd like to say that PixlBit's own Angelo Grant is a fan of the show, and we appreciate it greatly!

Now, onto the juicy bits of goodness we've got coming up for you:

-A brand new intro with a kickass chiptune composed by yours truly

-Of course, another 12-16 episodes for the 3rd Strike Season

-Some live action skits (you get to watch us act like assholes, not just hear it!)

-A whole bevy of games to Rampage (we've been busy slaughtering our local retro shops for everything they have.)

-We're going to have some videos for games that we absolutely can't stand! So you'll be able to hear how we REALLY feel on some of the worst games ever.

-And of course, more laughs, more absurd references, and more fun facts on all of your favorite AND most hated games of yesteryear!

So with that said, once Season 2 comes to a close, there will be a few weeks of preparation and filming time where we'll be getting our plan put together for the new season and making sure the opening episode is a great one, so we promise to make it worth your wait.

Until then, be sure to catch up on Season 1 and Season 2, and as always: Keep it old school!

Man, I'm gonna have so many videos to catch up on when I come back lol. Keep em coming guys! I'd suggest doing TMNT on NES if you haven't yet. I'm playing it again and it's a nightmare!

Haha I tried to get Joey to do it for season 1 but he was like "FUCK THAT."  We'll definitely get it in for Season 3 though :)  Though he did play one of the most obnoxious games EVER for Episode 30, but you'll have to wait and see :P

Thanks for the heads up,Ryan. I really liked you Mickey Mouse review for the nes! You also bring up a few obscure gems I didn't know existed or didn't get around to playing. Quite educational!

If you like the obscure stuff, check out (if you haven't already) our Rushing Beat: Shura video - awesome beat-em-up, it's the Japanese version of The Peacekeepers, and the superior version in all aspects.

I know time is a precious thing, but whenever you get 12 hours of free time, you can watch the entirety of the first 2 seasons :P

Subscribed on Youtube. Watched first couple minutes of Contra Super C and Donkey Kong, and look forward to your stuff.

What software do you use and/or capture device for the footage? I've been eyeing Dazzle for when I have a new enough PC to do let's plays, but always like to hear second opinions.

We use a capture card and record our gameplay footage off of the original console - sprite flicker and all!  We record our voiceover with a free-standing condenser mic using Audacity.  Once we're done, we export the mp3 of the voiceover, line it up with the gameplay footage in a video editing program, add the intro, then render it and it's good to go!

We're aiming to please with this one, and with all of the new tricks up our sleeves, we're hoping this will really be our Breakout (see what I did there? Like Arkanoid! HUZZAH!) season!

Thanks for the kind words!  We're really going to be kicking out some killer videos for season 3, as we're hoping to expand our audience and get a little more recognition.  The more we grow, the more we can do, so we're digging into our pockets to get some new equipment and make sure we're making them at the best quality we can!
