Happy Friday! I want to start doing smaller blogs like this. My last blog was a monster one and it takes forever to put those together. Here are some pickups I recently got:

Street Fighter V (PS4) - This wasn't actually a random purchase because I had it preordered. I popped it last night to try it out. There are some harsh reviews that I am starting to agree with saying this game is "bare bones". It really does feel that way, like not many characters or modes at all. It plays excellent though. I started using Cammy as a main for the first time in my experience with the Street Fighter series. Chun-Li had was the same only for Street Fighter IV. I was messing with Survival Mode last night and got to level 26. I also played the Story Mode for Cammy which is 4 fights, 1 round, that's it. See what I mean? I like it though and cannot wait until Capcom has the "full" experience available.

Kirby's Dream Collection (Wii) - I wanted this forever but it was always priced way too high in my opinion, maybe it is slightly rare. I got it for $20 and it is in near perfect condition. I loved the orginal GameBoy game and this one has a few more on there that I have never played.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Wii) - I will admit that really only bought this game because I had happen to be watching a YouTube video on rare Wii games and this game was discussed. I like DBZ and own the Budokai HD Collection for Playstation 3. Budokai 3 on that collection is probably my favorite DBZ game. I got this for $10.

Folklore (PS3) - I wanted to get a copy of this game before it starts getting hard to find. I remember playing a demo for this game way back when I first got my Playstation 3 and I liked it. It is constantly being talked about when people talk about overlooked PS3 gems. I got it for like $8, so had to bite on it.

I remember my roomate and I bought DBZ and I would kick his ass, lol. He was like dude, how in the hell do you do that move. Really fun fighting games.

Which DBZ game was your favorite?

We only had the first one. When he moved out I let him have it since it was his Wii. I played the others at a friends house. I honestly like all of them. I really felt I ws doing the Spirit Bomb.

If you have access to a Playstation 2/3, you should try Budokai 3, it's pretty awesome and has tons of characters. Maybe watch a YouTube video of gameplay beforehand. I love that game.

The Kirby collection is excellent.  I just got Project X-Zone 2.

Do you have it? It has a cool selection of games on it. I like the case and artwork with it as well. Kirby games have always been fun.

Do I have the Kirby Collection?  That's a silly question. :)

Awesome. I hardly ever see it out in the wild. Glad I bought it.

I've played the Naruto fighters, but not really DBZ. Never really watched either show. Kirby's a cool character. I am going to rent SFV free next week at Red Box. It'll be on a Wednesday (that's when it's free), but if you're on when I have it, my PSN is JimBeamHortonWho.

That Naruto game does look really pretty, I just know nothing about that series. I watched DBZ when I was young and remember thinking how intense it was for a cartoon.

I should be online then, if I see you on, I will hit you up. I know we are friends on PSN because you helped me get the platnium trophy for Rocket League (see, I never forget).

That's right; I was happy to do it cause it took me the longest to get someone else on for my own trophy. lol

I know more about DBZ than Naruto by far, but only cause friends watched it. I always caught the filler eps at next door neighbors and did not get drawn in. I did learn about non-Z Dragonball in college and enjoyed the humor

I've heard about folklore. I once almost bought it for my brother for his birthday, way back when.  Hope you enjoy it!

Folklore was one of the first demos I had ever downloaded on PSN. Everytime I think about when the PS3 first come out, the more I like the system and what it evolved into.

Kirby's Dream Collection is excellent. You'll love it. My wife really enjoyed Folklore. The only problem is that it was an early PS3 game and Sony was pushing everybody to include Sixaxis functionality, so there are some annoying parts where you have to waggle your controller around, especially during boss fights. Cool game overall though.

Good to hear. Motion controls are the worst. I also own the Metriod Prime Collection for Wii and the motion controls are super annoying in the game. I want to play it though, I wish you could set it up to just use with a normal controller layout.

I love everything about Folklore except for the motion controls which are a pain in the ass especially during boss battles. Because the game is from fairly early in the PS3's life they forced a lot of that on developers Lair being another classic example. The story in Folklore is great though and I love the graphic style and the music.

That Kirby collection is damn near impossible to find. Congrats.

I look foward to playing it. The demo was a lot of fun from what I remember and I do remember the motion controls being there in the demo, I hope motion controls are never a trend again, so annoying. How was Lair as a game? Did you ever play/own it?

I will admit that I never see Kirby Collection in the wild. Part of the reason that when I saw it for $20, I jumped on it. Plus I had been wanting it...

I do own Lair and they eventually patched it so you don't have to use motion controls. That made it better but I still could never be arsed to do much with it.

I got that Kirby collection fairly recently too. I played some of the games there so far and they're all really inventive and interesting.

Folkore. I too played the demo and liked it. I got the game a while back but never found the time to play it. . .yet.

Kirby Adventure was always a lot of fun. I never played Kirby 2 with the pets, interested in trying it out.

I remember a time when Fokelore was everywhere, I should have picked up one, becuase they're hard to find around these parts.

That's a shame about SFV. I like the random story's for the fighters. How's the online? Is it as bad as people make it sound?

The online for Street Fighter V has gotten better since day 1 and even the beta. It is your only real option of playing the game except Survival I guess. It is disappointing that a game that plays this great is so bare bones.  They seriously should have waited until June to release this game. I for one could have waited. It plays great though I want to emphasize, so it definitely has that going for it.

I'm not big into online play so I will probably wait for a GOTY version with all the extras to at least make it worth it for me to buy. Thanks for the info!
