Hey. I like podcasts. I'm in one. It's terrible. Don't tell Joe I said that. This site also does a whole host of great podcasts up there where it says podcasts. Seriously, listen to them. Some of them are great.
Awkward intro aside, podcasts!
Daft Souls
If you like British funnymen (and occasionally funnywomen) talking about the games you love or hate or both, this is the podcast for you! It's got Matt Lees, the guy what did those funny E3 abridged videos, and he's usually joined by Queinton Smith, who is one part of shut up and sit down, which is a board game site. He's also written for Escapist and Rock Paper Shotgun among other things.
Really though, they're just funny, charming people.
Idle Thumbs/Idle Weekend
Almost all of these people worked on Firewatch. And before that, they worked on the Walking Dead. This is a podcast by game developers, but it's weirdly not all that inside-baseball. They talk about games in a way that you'd normally expect games press people to talk about it, but occasionally they interject with design philosophy.
There is also a spin off show (which I like more) called Idle Weekend, which has people who didn't work on firewatch and are just normal games journalists (Danielle used to be the head editor at polygon and Rob Zacny writes at IGN, but seriously, don't hold that against them). However, they don't just talk about games. They also talk about Movies, Books, and other things. And I totally did not steal their format for my podcast. No... not at all.
Podquisition
Also known as "SJW the podcast because it's got a trans woman in it," this podcast talks about wonderful mature topics, like if we could squirt jizz out of our eyeballs or what the Miley Cyrus video game would look like. It's not for the feint of heart but it is for those who like a laugh, or those who just seriously fucking hate Konami. Seriously, #fuckonami.
Co-Optional Podcast
They got fucking Xavier Woods! On an episode! This was probably my first gaming podcast love. I still watch it every week, and despite it's 3 hour running length, it's still pretty great.
