BaD #28

Hello everyone, how are you? Every year on BaD, I ask everyone to ask me stuff near the start, and the last BaD blog I don on the 28th would me my replies to said questions. However since this year is Leap Year, it technically wont be my last BaD. I would have kept it till tomorrow, but decided against it and keep it for the 28th as usual. This year I've received more than last year and probably more than usual, and some are a real doozy.

Well here is what you guys asked and what I replied with...

Matt Snee asked: Why is Nintendo so damn cool?

Answer 1: Well, I think you might of answered that question yourself. But if I may add, it is because most, if not, all of their games are awesome.

Answer 2: Because they like living in the past? I don't know, but alot of people say that. I love Nintendo, but I don't always agree with everything they do. They do some pretty stupid things. The thing is alot of their practices and decisions make it hard on the consumer, like only 32gb of storage on Wii U, Region Locked Hardware, no cross purchases on the eShop. Like if I own SMB on 3DS, I should be able to play it on Wii U without paying extra. Those are just things on the top of my head. I'm sure there are more but I'll stop here.

Do you know of any legal cases relating to gaming in the digital age (DRM, DMCA, etc.) that caused some form of financial impact in the games market? Could use some good sources for a chapter I'm writing. Thanks. 

                                       

Answer 1: Good to know.

Answer 2: I wish I could give you a good answer, but I remember that thing EA did with that Sim City game that had you be connected online all the time in order to play it. I did some research and this might be useful. This too. Here are some Cracked ones. Good luck.

Is it true that you made it all the way to the roof of the castle in Super Mario 64 without using the cannon?

Answer 1: Yes, we are Epic Winning.

Answer 2: Who told you? That was supposed to be a secret no one was supposed to know about!

KnightDriver asked: Why can't I digitize myself like Flynn in Tron and put myself into a video game world? What's wrong with technology? We should have flying cars and the ability to transfer digitally to any computer world. What's up with that?

            

Answer 1: Because technology hasn't caught up to that yet unfortunately.

Answer 2: Lots.

Answer 3: The same reason we don't have hoverboards yet, which sucks. So that's what's up.

daftman asked: If the world was made completely out of crafting materials like in Kirby's Epic Yarn or Yoshi's Wooly World, how would the lack of leather impact the socio-political and economic climates? Also, what would people in Texas wear?

           

Answer 1: Well if it was, which would be cool, I don't think it would have any effect since everything is yarn. Though you will have to get used to using beads for currency.

Answer 2: Denim and plaid?

Alex-C25 asked: What's your favorite weapon in Splatoon so far? Any character you wished had appeared as DLC on Smash 4?

Answer 1: The Zapper, I like it because it's a well rounded weapon that comes with a sprinkler and an inkstrike. That and it makes me feel like Captain N.

Answer 2: Geno. I'm kidding, I don't know who that is. I'm kidding again, of course I know who that is haha. I haven't beaten Super Mario Rpg. That one I wasn't kidding. If there were characters I wanted in Smash, it would be Snake for returning/veteran and Banjo, Shantae, Krystal, and Captain N for newcomers.
