Fire Emblem Conquest! Why do I get stuck?

So, I am at the crossroads where you chose who to fight for. I bought Conquest so that was an easy choice. All this happens in chapter 6, I have to fight my birth family now and no matter how I plan out my attacks and retreats for health, I always lose. I've tried pairing up and all that so maybe somebody can give me a pointer or two, thanks.

Sorry that I don't have any useful info for you, but I thought I'd share something with you anyway since you probably know more about Fire Emblem than I do. Anyway, have you ever heard of Nintendo Badge Arcade? If not, go here and read my review:

Anyway, recently they let you get Fire Emblem badges in this game, and the 'host' of the game is a pink rabbit and he had me take a quiz in the game to see what kind of Fire Emblem character I would like. Well the character the pink rabbit said I would like was "Camilla" whoever that is. Only thing I know is she has pinky purpley hair. I read that Conquest is the harder version of the two.

I am playing casual right now. Other than that is it pretty tough but, awesome. I asked for Birthright for my BD this month.

I was listening to radiofreenintendo this weekend, one of my fav podcasts up to date with all big Nintendo releases, and one of the hosts said he bought Birthright first because it was easier, and then planned to move on to Conquest for a bigger challenge. He is also playing easy mode, whatever easy mode is. That's all I know. You should check them out to hear what they say about FireEmblem, if you're into podcasts at all. What is this about a 3rd game? I thought there were only 2 games? Is there a 3rd story path through the games? Maybe I heard wrong?

I know they have Radiant Dawn on the Wii also I have The Sacred Stones ( GBA ) on my 3DS. Maybe 5 I think, not really sure. I will have to research it.

i'm about 5 hours into Birthright. So far pretty easy. I'm playing on the middle difficulty. I'm expecting it to get much harder later in the game though. Conquest sounds cool, I just wanted to work up to it first.
