Hello everyone, how are you? The new Nintendo Direct came and went, and as usual, you can watch the hour long video, or read what was announced in this post. If you watch the video, you can skip the post, if not then you can stick around and read about the new things that were shown. Well let's go then...

No they didn't show any NX stuff before anyone asks...

Star Fox Zero

Star Fox Zero

The Direct started off with Star Fox Zero and showing off some of the gameplay and the branching paths you can take during missions. They also showed Fortuna, which is a returning planet from Star Fox 64 as well as finally showing Wolf from Star Wolf. Wolf was shown last year in his SF0 design, but not during gameplay. You can use a Star Fox amiibo like the Fox amiibo to change your Arwing into the original 16-bit one. Also shown was Project Guard, now known as Star Fox Guard, in which you have to help protect Slippy's uncle Grippy's mining business using the cameras from Project Guard. You can also make your own missions for it and upload them online for others to try like you do in Mario Maker. Both Star Fox Zero and Star Fox Guard will come bundled together and will release on April 22.

Federation Force

More info on Metroid Prime Federation Force was announced. Apparently it takes place with the Federation fighting the Space Pirates. You can customize your role in the game like being a healer or warrior by choosing loadouts or something on your mech, which I will call a Skell. The game has been in development since 2009 on the DSi, but was restarted from scratch or something on 3DS. The game has always been intended to be online focused, and part of Metroid Prime. I guess they are saying that this is what the Federation was doing before Samus arrives or somewhere in between her mission or something. Would make sense because the Federation is always in a skirmish with the Pirates before Samus arrives, as seen in Metroid Prime 3. Samus is mentioned in Federation Force, but that's pretty much all we know. Federation Force is due to arrive in Late Spring.

Kirby Planet Robobot

A new Kirby game was announced called Kirby: Planet Robobot. The game plays like Returns to Dream Land/Triple Deluxe, except this time Kirby can pilot a robot mech called the Robobot Armor which he can use in levels, and it can also use copy abilities too. In other words, Kirby has his own Skell. You can also use your amiibo figures to give Kirby copy abilities in the game, like using a Mario amiibo gives Kirby his fire ability. Also announced is a new line of Kirby amiibo figures pictured above. Each four of them give Kirby a new ability that's exclusive to each figure. Kirby: Planet Robobot launches on June 10.

Paper Mario Color Splash

Last but not least, and probably my favorite announcement, a new Paper Mario game was announced! Titled Paper Mario: Color Splash. In this game, Mario must use his new paint hammer to restore color to Prism Island. It is definitely giving me a Super Mario Sunshine and Splatoon vibe. It is coming in 2016. Just hope it's as good as The Thousand Year Door.

More highlights:

Mini Mario and Friends amiibo Challenge was announced and plays like previous games that have Mini Mario in it. Except this time you can use Mario series amiibo to play as those characters in the game, each with their own special ability. The game will be free to download on both 3DS and Wii U. I mean it has to be since you need to buy amiibo figures in order for you to play.

Pokken Tournament launches on March 16, and first run copies of the game include a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card to unlock Shadow Mewtwo in the game. I heard he's unlockable in the game, it's just that you can use it to get access to Shadow Mewtwo right away.

"New" 3DS is getting Super Nintendo Virtual Console games and you can get a few of them right now. Right now you can get F-Zero, Pilotwings, and Super Mario World.  It's said that the games are emulated in their original pixel perfect resolution. They didn't say if we would have to purchase them again if we own them on the Wii U, but I imagine we do as Nintendo loves us to double dip on games we already have.

SMT X FE is now known as Tokyo Mirage Sessions # FE which is a fusion of rpg and a pop idol concert. Yeah it's as weird as it sounds and will include it's Japanese VO with english subtitles. It launches on June 24.

Lost Reavers, formerly known as Project Treasure was shown. The game is an online co-op game that you and a team of 3 other people team up to find zombies and solve puzzles. It looks pretty fun. It'll have a beta on April 14 with the game launching on the 28th. It's free to play which is nice, but that usually means there's bound to be microtransactions. Who knows?

Super Mario Maker and Splatoon will be getting a new update. They will add new course makers items in Mario Maker as well as new amiibo costumes, and a much more challenging Super Expert mode. Splatoon will be getting some new updates to matchmaking and to balance things out, as well as weapon recommendations.

Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was shown. They showed footage of the Wii U version and it looks fun. The 3DS version comes out on March 18 with the Wii U coming out on June 24. I'm mostly interested in it because they finally added Rosalina as a playable character.

Pocket Card Jockey was confirmed as a release over here. It uses Solitaire to propel your horse through races. It is by Game Freak so it is definitely worth a look.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 was announced with a summer release. Right now you can get the original for 10 bucks on the eShop till June 1st.

Fire Emblem Revelations was shown to launch on March 10 for 20 bucks.

Hyrule Warriors Legends was shown and will get a Season Pass and you will get a Wind Waker Ganondorf costume if you get the season pass. Pre-order it at Gamestop and you can get a 16 page artbook. Medli, from Wind Waker was announced as a playable character for both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Hyrule Warriors. You can also play as the new characters from the 3DS version on the Wii U using a code from the 3DS version. The 3DS verion launches on March 25.

Disney Art Academy was announced and it shows you how to draw your favorite Disney and Pixar characters. As well as learning new art techniques. It launches on May 13.

DQ VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past was shown as is said it has been redone from scratch. As well as the translation. It arrives later this year.

New Monster Hunter game called Monster Hunter Generations was announced. You can also unlock new stuff in the game if you have a save file from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. You can also get a Marth costume.

Finally Bravely Second was shown. They showed new jobs, or classes you can use in the game. There will be a demo of it that has a new story not seen in the final game as well as some bonuses you can transfer to the main game. The demo will be free to download on March 10 with the full game releasing on April 15. If you have Best Buys Gamers Club Unlocked, you can get the demo 3 days earlier.

So that's all for now, anything you are interested in? Thanks for reading and later.

I was a little confused on how the Star Fox Zero/Star Fox Guard thing is going to work.  I hope my reserved copy of Star Fox Zero will have both games.  Why not just put both games together on one disc?

I'm still not convinced that the new Metroid game is what fans wanted.  But that's OK.  I don't have to like EVERY game Nintendo puts out.

I am SO excited about the new Kirby game, though.  Looks like Kirby Gundam.  I've said it before, but the future always looks a little brighter and happier when there's a new Kirby game coming on the horizon.

The new Paper Mario looks cool, but I hope it plays more like The Thousand Year Door and NOT like Sticker Star.  The card gameplaly aspect they showed kind of worries me to that effect.

I've already got Pokken Tournament pre-ordered.  Looks like fun.

Since I've got every single amiibo released so far except for Mega Yarn Yoshi, I'm definitely going to download that new free amiibo game.

I like that they got a Disney license for Art Academy.  I used to know a Disney animator a long time ago and he helped created Chip N Dale.  Like my grandmother, I hope he can play or at least see that game up in Heaven.

Most of that other stuff I'm not really interested in.  I wish they would've announced other things like a release date for that Detective Pikachu game, or dates for the new 3DS Picross game and BoxBoy 2 that are out in Japan.

A lot of cool stuff Cap. So glad I have a Wii U now although a bit bummed about Xenoblade Chronicles X (and the lack of the first game in the eShop).

I will be picking up Star Fox, that's a given. I like the idea of the New 3DS getting SNES games but I won't be buying Super Mario World a third time. I already have it on Wii VC and a physical copy.

Finally get to play DQ VII

Bravely Second demo next Thursday. I'm all over that. I'll play it to death.

Im super excited for Monster Hunter, I dont understand it being changed from X to Generations here but I guess it doesnt really matter. I figured we wouldnt get it this quick, I was thinking more of a 2017/2018.

I must have the Kirby amiibos they announced! I wanted King Dedede when he launched for Smash bros but never found him. Im also excited for the new Kirby game, I really enjoyed the previous 2 titles. Summer is looking pretty good for Nintendo.

No date given for Dragon Quest VII I guess? I'll be all over that one.

I love Star Fox, but nothing about the new Zelda coming out? Hmmm ...

My guess is they're waiting for the NX to show more Zelda stuff since that'll be their big game for it like TP on the Wii

That'd be my guess as well. Hopefully, Wii U owners will get it too.
