Look Back At February

Good morning Pixlpeeps! We have been in March for a couple of days and it is time to do a look back at what I played in February.

I finished off Lego Jurassic World in February ending in a Platinum Trophy, finally finished off Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 (I had more enjoyment on the PS3) and the only game I started in the month was Mad Max which I finished in March. Currently I am just roaming through the Mad Max Universe hitting the scrap locations and riding the balloons. I have a good shot at earning the Platinum for the game but the one thing that is going to be tough is to earn all legendary scores in each version of the Magnum Opus, and defeat one enemy with each car. I think I can unlock each car if I go through all scrap locations. We shall see if I actually accomplish this or get tired of the game.

I felt the Mad Max game just abruptly finishes, but overall the story was filled with drama, and action to be a summer popcorn flick. A couple of things I didn’t like were the camera angles during some of the fight sequences where Max would be out of view, and during some of these moments enemies would attack breaking up fight combos. Also on the map it would be nice to know if an area is either above or below your position. I found a couple of times where I would search an area without realizing the spot I should be looking for is above my character. Another thing I didn’t care for was the storm. Why have this? Its pointless, and just adds to frustration especially if I start a game, leave the base and I’m warned to find shelter because the storm is coming.

Overall I liked the game. There were some problems but overall it was presented well, has enough action for a video game, and when it was first announced I thought it was going to be a terrible movie tie-in game, but this game can stand on its own.

In other games I played in the month:

NBA 2K15 – PS4: I’m still grinding towards the playoffs and in earlier games I have been struggling to put away the other team but in the last couple of games I’ve played I have seemed to have found my stride and I beat the last two teams by at least 10-15 points. Instead of front loading my PF and C position with my “Twin Towers” of Myles Turner and Jahil Okafor, Turner is with the second team, moving Okafor to Center in the starting lineup.

Futurama: Game of Drones – iOS: I started playing this on its release day and it is your typical match 4 game but within the Futurama Universe. It is your typical freemium game where you have a board and you have to match multiples of four or more same colored items. In this game they are different colored drones.

This was the level I was stuck on earlier this morning, and then I ran into a heck of a streak and finished it. After finishing certain puzzles you are greeted with a tweet from one of the various characters

If you like casual games and Futurama give this game a try.

Alright Pixlbit I am off to get my morning walk in. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Futurama match 3 game?

Mad Max sounds cool, if a bit unpolished.  Maybe I'll get it for my brother when it's cheap. His birthday comes up in April.

Mad Max is fun, I still call it Batman in the desert (plays almost exactly like the most recent Arkham game).

Yeah I believe it came out last week, or the week before. If you're a fan you'll like this game.

Unpoolished maybe, but I still really liked the look of it.

I liked how it felt like a summer blockbuster in video game form.

I saw that Futurama game on the app store, but I try not to get addicted to too many of those games.  :)
