hey which NES clone is it?
I'm curious about Division, but... I don't know...

I have two things on my mind right now, Crimsonland and that $20 NES clone that I got from GameStop last week.
First, let's talk about that NES clone. I am pretty happy with it so far and would recommend it to anybody who wants a cheap way to play their NES cartridges. I tested all of my games and nearly all of them booted up on the first try. The ones I had issues with I had ordered on amazon years back and may just need to clean the cartridge. I don't ever remember having such good luck when we played on our original NES growing up. I was a little hesitant of the controller that came with the system, but it feels pretty good overall, so that is a plus. The only real negative that I have noticed so far is that I am worried about breaking the system when pulling a cartridge out. It feels like a $20 piece of hardware and it is quite possible that the NES cartridges weigh more than the system itself.
Of my collection of NES games, I have spent the most time with Simon's Quest so far. I told myself that I would like to play through the game from start to finish, unlike my memories of playing it when I was younger... So far, all I really want to do with the game is explore the world. I may never beat the game legitimately, but I am not sure that is the point, the world is just so neat and begs to be explored.
I have said previously that I finished up the main campaign in Crimsonland and that I may be setting the game aside. Well, I lied, I have not been able to stop playing. Upon completing the main campaign, a harder difficulty setting opens up with variations upon the levels you already played. Also, there are the score-attack modes called "survival," in which you get one life to get as high a score as possible. There are trophies tied to reaching certain High Scores in each "survival" variant. I have gotten so close numerous times, but have yet to make any of those trophies pop... On average my attempts last fewer than 5 minutes, so it is easy to just keep starting again after I die. So, I restart and restart and restart and next thing you know, I have put another 5 hours into the game... and I wasn't even planning on it.
In other news, I am not sure if I want to get the Division. I am hearing good things about it, and from what I am reading it seems to have plenty of similarities to Destiny... I loved Destiny, and put in 150+ hours the first few months post-release.
I also just saw the trailer for DOOM's multiplayer, and it got me excited. I might actually partake in the beta at the end of the month.
Dang I was hoping the $20 clone would be a little heavier but like you said it is a $20 piece of hardware. I might give this little clone a try later on in the year when I have a bit more time for classic plastic.
I'm a little bummed to hear the Division is similar to Destiny. I was going to give that game a try later on in the year but I'm hesitant now because of my experience with Destiny.
