The One Where Everyone Hates Me and No One Wants To Dance

It's Sunday here. I sat down to play Stardew Valley at 10 am and it's now 10:20 pm and I've just managed to pry myself way. I don't think I've had that experience with a game since I was in high school.

Anyway, the game is great. If you like Harvest Moon style games, you'll love it. It's got a great core loop of sewing crops and selling them to buy money, and talking to people and trying to marry someone.

However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There was a dancing festival. I rocked up and they said I could ask people to dance with them, so I walked up to the girl I'd been eyeing off. She said "No offense, but I really don't want to dance with you." Heartbroken, I walked around asking everyone. I got responses of "Ew, no," "Sorry I want to dance with someone else," and various other rejections until eventually I gave up and tried to go home - except the mayor was blocking the exit. So I had to stay and watch everyone else dance and be merry while I stuck around and became that guy who just has Ipod in listening to depressing post rock and trying not to cry.

I didn't go into town for the next few days, as I just spent all my time tending to my crops and sleeping. On the day before my $2000 set of crops was due for harvest, there was an earthquake. I lost all of them. Not only that but I had to spend the next day mending fences and making a new scarecrow.

So yeah. Stardew Valley is a game where you go to a dance and realise everyone hates you and you should probably kill yourself. 10/10.

I really want this game. If I hook up my tower again I can play it. My laptop....is 1.8 GHz and it's a 2.00 on the minimum requirements. It would have been a great on the go game too! Damn!!!!!

That sucks. Bilby is playing it on her laltop and loving it. But if you can play it on your desktop you absolutely should. Heres hoping for a 3ds or vita port!

ah, poor Blake.  Hey I was wondering.  Are you plaing Grim Dawn?  I've been reading reviews of it, but I'm not really into that whole Diablo type thing really. It looks good though.

Never played Harvest Moon or any similar games. Played this game. Told my self "just one more day, then I'll quit." 10 in game days later and I was still telling myself that. 10/10

Mark and I were repeating the rejection in Oblivion's Persuasion Wheel over and over today for laughs, "Not now, not later, not ever."

That's depressing.

I bounced back! I'm now good enough friends with Abigail that we play video games together and make music in the rain (not a euphemism.)
