Chris Plays Some Games On Steam (Nothing Fancy...Or New)

Good morning Pixlpeeps and happy Pi Day! As the local news anchor said that got a chuckle “not the circle and delicious, but the squared.” So how have you good people been? Play some fun games this past weekend? Here in sunny Southern California we lost an hour of sleep and are now at the same time as the good people of Arizona. I miss that extra hour. Anyways let's see what games I played this past weekend

Mad Max – PS4: I am officially nearing the point where I am over this game and I want to play something else. I am currently roaming the desert looking for scraps, and I think I have 70% of them. Some are a little out of the way but my main reason for looking (other than trying to earn the trophy) is I get to kick some bad guy butt. What that being said I am getting tired of this and I think it is time to uninstall the game and play something else from Mount Backlog.

Futurama: Game of Drones – iOS: I am at Level 50 against the end of the section boss and he his kicking some major tail. You have to collect certain match four drones to do damage, and they throw in these evil drones that if you connect four of them they also do damage. The boss likes to connect chains of combos that take me out early and often. Since I only play this game twice a day (once in the morning when I wake up, and again before I go to sleep) its not a big deal.

GRID Autosports – Steam: I bought my first sale items on Steam this past weekend and I played some racing! I finished the first season, which is two races, and my claim to fame is that I spun out my teammate...twice. I've been more on a racing kick on the PC especially since I got the PS3 controller to work. The only problem I've run into with this game is that in the beginning of the races there is a stuttering with the screen. I dropped down from Ultra to High in the settings and it still doesn't fix it. Its odd but I might have to do some digging in the forums to see if anyone else has this problem.

Portal – Steam: It was a freebie from long ago and when I originally played it on my old laptop it stuttered because my laptop was slow. I'm getting better at using the keyboard and mouse and I just started the game so I am at puzzle 3 or 4.

Need For Speed Most Wanted – Origin: This was one of their freebies and I decided to give it a try even though I've played through the game on PS3, 360, and mobile so why not PC? I probably won't play through the game on PC, but you never know. I thought the controls felt a bit looser than the PS3, but other than that its still the fun game I remember.

I'm thinking of buying GTA San Andreas from Amazon because its $2 and I saw that you can add graphic mods to the game. I thought it would be fun to tinker around with that. We shall see in the Quick Hits Blog later this week if I splurged on that game. Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

I still need to finish Portal. I own 1 and 2 on Steam.

I like puzzle games and I know this game will drive me nuts until I figure out the puzzle and have my "That was easy" moment. We'll see how I feel about getting Portal II after I finish Portal.

I think I've had that "how tf did I not figure this out before?!" moment with ... every Zelda I've played?

I hope you get a chance to play through Portal.  I really liked that game.

It seems like a fun game, and I have no excuse to not play it since I got a laptop that can run the dang game.

I heard about some funny mods for XCOM 2, mostly with the sound files. I used to do that with Warcraft II. Makes me miss PC gaming.

There are so many mods but I've had problems getting the vanilla game to run. Yesterday was dedicated to just getting the game to boot, and it finally works (thanks internets!) but now I need to tinker a bit to get the mods to work.
