Can't put my finger on it, but Psylocke is a neat character for some reason.
I got a press release and I SHOULD be getting a review copy of the Midway Arcade Level Pack for LEGO Dimensions, and it sounds really good!

Pixlpeeps what is up? I am back again, its Friday and I am ready to do nothing but watch television and maybe play some games. How has the week been treating you? It’s been basketball week here with The Aztecs taking their frustrations out on Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons. I was hoping for a cool headline like Aztecs send Mastodons back to the Ice Age, but no such luck. Anyways it is also the NCAA Tournament and guess who I picked to win it all?
Yeah after last night’s game my bracket went from promising to
Thanks Wichita State.
Media Chris Wants To Watch…
After watching my bracket go from promising to dumpster fire in a little over an hour I noticed that Twitter was going nuts over this show is back for a second season
My Netflix Backlog is now the last of the Jessica Jones episodes, House of Cards, and Daredevil. You can probably throw in Fuller House if I want to torture myself. This doesn’t include The Americans on Amazon Video.
The next installment of X-Men released a trailer yesterday and
How do you not watch when Olivia Munn and Jennifer Lawrence are in a comic book flick together?
Chris Watches…
YouTube: I don’t know what it is but the past week I’ve been watching random videos on YouTube. Ok maybe not really random, a couple of them where explaining how to install graphics cards, while others were how to install game mods. Of course there was some music sprinkled in with pickup videos, stuff folks like, and other fun randoms.
Random Clippers Dance Squad Show – E!: As many of you know I like watching The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Squad because its freaking hilarious. (It’s a show that follows the various cheerleaders from audition to right before the first exhibition game) Anyways the Clippers have their own version and it’s not as good as the DCC, but it has the same drama. Some random vet was getting all pissed that a rookie was making a play for assistant captain while the same vet couldn’t get some new dance steps down, while the rookie was kicking ass. Maybe drop the ego a bit and learn the steps? Also I couldn’t help but wonder what the Laker Girls think about this team.
The OJ Show – FX: New things I learned, apparently Chris Darden c***blocked himself when he brought Marcia to Oakland for his friend’s birthday party. The writers made it seem like she wanted a relationship. This was going on during the famous Glove portion of the trial. Also seriously why did Shapiro stick his hand in the glove? That’s just gross.
I haven’t watched a lot of TV outside of the usual stuff. I checked out an episode of Survivor, and it’s still not compelling enough for me to stick with it. SHIELD is still rolling at a decent pace, and I have last week’s Quantico to catch up on because the local affiliate decided to break down during a wind storm (nowhere near a Habob but I thought the vent leading out of the bathroom was going to snap)
Chris Listens To…
I’ve been listening to a lot of music recently and the shocking part is it has been through radio stations. Thanks to a couple of streaming services I’ve been listening to a local radio station that I haven’t listened to since high school, and another station I used to listen to in college in San Diego. There are a lot more commercials in the local channel, while the San Diego station plays a lot of songs I never heard.
As for my iTunes library I’ve added a bunch of stuff to the 13,019 unplayed tracks. This is my current unplayed tracks for the week
This isn’t including the current album I’m listening to.
Randoms
Pickups
Games
So I had some extra cash, and noticed a sale was going on that I wanted to take part in on Steam
I bought one of these and bought a couple of games, and a bunch of DLC
I bought a couple of racing games for the laptop. I also bought a bunch of DLC for Grid Autosport. Steam had some bundle for $40 and you get every GRID game they have but I own the first two already and for something like $12 I got the game, XP booster, and a couple of packs of cars/tracks. I still have $4.75 left.
When I got paid I decided to splurge on Amazon and picked up two PC downloadable games (also watching modding videos helped)
I wanted to try the Ice enhancer for IV and there was some fun car upgrades on GTA:SA. More about these games on Monday. Oh both games came out to $11 bucks.
I pre-ordered this back in late January/early February I think and forgot about it until I got the notification that it was being delivered
The “box” (it was more like a folder) that it was delivered in crushed the packaging a bit
Not really important to me, but I know some collector’s would go nuts over this. Anyways the contents were fine and I got
A Vinny Chase minifigure! (That’s for you Entourage fans)
Music
There was a ton of music pickups. I hit the local mom spot twice in the week and found tons of good stuff each time as well as a trip to a local church run thrift shop
Let’s do the church thrift first. I went to this spot on the way back from a morning trip to the bank and usually they have super cheap CDs (.50-$1) but the drawback is that there is a ton of religious CDs. Nothing wrong with them but they’re not my thing. Anyways here is what I found
The My Girl CD is a compilation of R&B tracks, the majority is from the Motown era. You can’t go wrong with albums like this especially if you like a couple of songs and don’t have them in your library. This was a .50 cent CD. The Kellie Pickler CD was a dollar. The employee said that she is an American Idol so they had to raise the price. I said it was fine, and I like her stuff anyways so it was a steal. I really enjoyed this album!
Carole King was $2 and I am currently listening to this album as I type. It’s a really good concert. It’s just her, a piano, and a small crowd. She’s currently doing a medley of the songs she sang with her ex-husband as the writer.
Now for the stuff from the mom & pop shop. First visit:
Slowly building that Usher discography. I never saw The Wash, but I found a couple of songs on this soundtrack that I really liked.
I bought Mortal Kombat for The Immortals Techno Syndrome. Last week I said I didn’t have a Tiffany CD to go with all my Debbie Gibson stuff, and what appears on the shelf? Tiffany. It’s sound is really dated but its ok.
I started listening to Mindi Abair when she covered Eagle Eye Cherry’s Save Tonight. She’s a kick ass Sax player and this album is really good. I found a lot of songs that I enjoyed and earned four stars in my library. Diana Krall is just good music. The only album of hers I am missing is a Live In Rio CD. I might just order it online to complete the discography. This was a steal at $2.
Another Bocelli CD. I like his voice but I really can’t sit and listen to an entire album of his unless its louder than normal. Almost Famous was one of those flicks I saw in college when they would offer free previews of upcoming flicks. I enjoyed it but it’s a film I’m good watching once. Soundtrack isn’t bad.
In the freebie bin I found Mick Jagger. I figured you can’t go wrong with free and gave it a try. It’s not bad and I think I found a couple of songs I like from it.
The second trip to the mom and pop shop happened during lunch where I didn’t get any lunch at the mall like I planned. Anyways here is the stuff I found
I really need to pay attention to rap CDs because Method Man is the clean version. Oh well it’ll be a placeholder until I can find a dirty version. The album itself isn’t bad, with maybe one or two songs that jumped out at me. I was pleasantly surprised with Tha Dog Pound. I didn’t really care for their other work on soundtracks, and other people’s CD’s but I did find some tracks towards the end of the album I really liked. Everything else was solid but wasn’t going to stay on my phone.
Eve-olution was a must buy because of the single with Alicia Keys. I didn’t really appreciate the other tracks on this album when it was first released, but after listening to it again, it is a solid album where every other track I was giving it a four star rating. I believe this was Busta Rhymes second studio release and an album where a bunch of the songs remind me of college.
Roxanne Shante because of one song, Roxanne’s Revenge. That’s the only song I know, so the rest of this album will be a surprise. The other album is LL Cool J’s 10. I haven’t listened to it either so another surprise.
Liz Phair. I think this was her big commercial release with the single Why Can’t I (it is soooooo good. Yeah that many o’s) I’ve had the clean version for a couple of years, and I am happy to have the one with the cuss words. Keyshia Cole was an album I took a chance on. I don’t remember much from it other than she had a reality show to promote this album.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off but before I go I saw this on Reddit and thought I’d share with you. It’s pretty darn cool! Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
For today’s song of the week, I’m going with Liz Phair. It is such a good song. I think this came out right around the time I was starting to work as a Substitute Teacher. It was always on the radio as I was going to work so it stuck with me.
I've been finishing up HoC so I can watch Daredevil. Those two came out too close together!
I take it the Aztecs won? Lumberjacks play tonight. We're going to a watch party at a burger joint next to Jerry World for my birthday.
Olivia Munn in the Psylocke outfit is pretty much why I'm seeing Apocalypse.
I often watch old Game Grumps eps on YouTube to get to sleep. Did it last night.
We went to a Mexican restaurant for St. Paddy's. It was good.
Let me know if you are able to plasy GTA IV. I wasn't. And I've gotten into Aquaman since his character is soo good in Injustice.
I remember that Liz Phair song. Wonder what happened to her.
Yeah they did, and I'm currently on episode 2 or 3 of the new season of HoC and I'm already wondering how everything is going to work out.
Yeah the Aztecs beat down IPFW and the next round is against Washington. I didn't watch the SFA game but I saw the score, and hot damn what happened to WVU and their defense. I hope your school can keep your coach because some programs in the MWC are talking about new coaches and Underwood is appearing on lists.
That's a good reason to watch.
Yeah another weird combo on St. Patrick's. This should be a thing.
Yeah thanks to YouTube, and various message boards I got GTA IV to work but not through Steam. I ended up making a shortcut from the Launch GTA app within the game's root folder. If I would have known there were problems with Rockstar games on Steam I would have just skipped it and gone for the physical copies.
I don't know, she was in a Target commercial and just stopped releasing albums. Weird.
Underwood will likely go to Kansas where he is from. I dunno if we have the money to pay him once the offers come. On the bright side, maybe if he leaves people will accept offers to play us again. Our defense happened to WVU's defense. If you watch the game, we were very good defensively and forced quite a few turnovers.
The funny thing is last night we were eating burgers right in front of an Irish pub location.Today we went to the Greenville parade and watched Mark Cuban and his little ones throw green beads out.
Can you show me the Youtube video? On the off chance it does anything?
I like Target, but you have to admit doing an ad for a store with that name and logo is kind of a bad omen.
