E-Sports the rise of the titans

E-Sports are extremely integral to our culture.

They are not just a game anymore. And with ESPN.com actually supporting the means of coverage, that is just incredible.

When I told my mom "Hey when you were kids I bet you did not know that we were going to have video game sports." And her response with a scoffish attitude, was ; " You better get an E-job."

My parent's are clueless when it comes to gaming. Just abhorrently clueless and can you blame them? They probably grew up with Yo-yo's or wooden cars. With the rise of tehcnology we have gotten better on every level. And a natural progression is that video games are a sport. Have you seen how skilled these LOL players and Dota 2 players are? I just find it interesting that my parent's disconnect with the world is lauhable. That they never wanted me to game and here I am talking about E-Sports. I think the older generation lives in this bubble and wants nothing to do with video games .

I think the rift is caused by not understanding what they actually are.

My mom remains clueless whilst I support E-Sports and pro gamers.

I'm all for ESports, but that EJob comment was still kinda funny. lol

My favorite to watch are fighting games.

nothing wrong with yo-yo's.  :)

yeah e-sports are cool. I don't really understand the appeal of moba's but I'm getting pretty old and crusty myself now.

HAHHAHAHAHH! Sorry, Matt you said old and crusty and it behooved me to think of the Crusty Crab. God, I love Sponge Bob! I think Mobas are taking over so much of the RTS market. RTS's need to fight back. I am currently playing a very hard Company of Heroes 2. Literally, in a skirmish 2 v2 game I had an all out assault on CPU 1's base and they would not die! They fought back and I just tired myself out. It was a full hour of strategy and bloody misery.

I loved the Spitfire and Brain Yo-yo. I never ascended to any heights. I could baby cradle and walk the dog. But other than that I sucked at it. Goddamnit lol.

Super. My mom doesn't have a sense of humor. But secretly she thinks she does. Sometimes she has funny moments . But maybe I am jaded with my dark/dry/witty/sarcastic humor. Who the fuck knows?

I don't really understand the disconnect. I don't think I live in the past. All the new stuff is super interesting to me.

Yeah, I love old and new!

FYI - I had a cup-and-ball in college and it entertained me for hours. (I am not joking about this.)

Sometimes I think I should let go of all this expensive video gaming and get a simple pack of cards.

Ha ha! Looks amazing! Does it come with a VR headset?

How about this:

tincan

I had this game when I was a kid and loved it. But it is kind of sophisticated next to your gem of a game. I guess I was always spoiled rotten with high tech toys.

That does look pretty fancy, but looks like a lot of fun!

I didn't get into cup-and-ball until I was in my 20s. Definitely M-rated.

No multiplayer I guess, but I suppose you could play two cup-and-ball games at the same time. What's that called, two player solo? Multisolo. Hey, it's Han Solo's brother, Multi Solo. Guy can play two cup-and ball games at the same time. Or fire two blasters at once, both shot first into Greedo's brother's gut.
