Beep beep! $30 for vinyl is crazy. I see that stuff at Barnes & Noble and wonder who's paying such prices.

Happy Friday from a damp Southern California! Currently there is a break in between showers and before I lose interest and find something to play I figured it is time to write up my next edition of Quick Hits before I go and play some games. Anyone try the stream from PS4 to PC? I played a little last night and I’ll give you my impressions about it on Monday. Anyways it is Friday and its time for the other stuff I like to talk about so let’s get started with Quick Hits!
Chris Watches…
Wrestling Weekend: Wrestlemania and NXT Takeover
NXT has been on fire with their takeovers and I felt this one was no different. It was a small venue but the crowd was still going nuts and a couple of belts changed hands. American Alpha became Tag Team champions, and they are fun to watch. If Kurt Angle ever comes back to the WWE and becomes a manager this is the team he should be with. The women’s division has been solid and Bayley lost to Asuka. I think many folks figured since this happened we will see Bayley on the main roster but she wasn’t on Raw or Smackdown. The title match between Samoa Joe and Finn Balor was good but I think it will be remember more for the crowd chanting “Let Joe Bleed” every time medical showed up to check on the cut on his head. I thought this would be the show of the weekend.
WrestleMania wasn’t bad. The one thing I didn’t care for was that Brie Bella’s last match was one of the matches on USA instead of the big Pay Per View portion. I guess WWE is holding her retirement ceremony for Total Divas, the WWE’s “reality” show on E! Anyways since I didn’t care for any of the USA Network matches I didn’t watch and I was out getting lunch. Anyways there are a couple of things that stuck out during that match:
Zack Ryder winning the IC belt. Kind of interesting considering he wasn’t getting a lot of TV time.
The Street Fight between Lesnar and Dean Ambrose didn’t live up to the billing. There was so much talk about all the crazy weapons Dean was going to use (and the chainsaw was teased) but for a match like this it was odd to see Brock Lesnar not bleed, and end it with a clean finish. It would be nice to see Dean actually win one of these big matches.
I don’t get why it was good for Jericho to beat AJ Styles. I thought the whole reason of bringing in AJ was to have another superstar to carry the load.
The New Day’s entrance was awesome
I like that they came out of a Booty-O’s box dressed as Dragon Ball Z folks (Twitter had to tell me this because I don’t watch DBZ). The match was ok, but what happened afterward was great because while the League of Nations was talking about how great they are Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, and Stone Cold Steve Austin came out and beat them. When the New Day tried to teach the three how to dance Stone Cold Stunned Xavier Woods and proceeded to drink beer.
Sasha Banks and her cousin Snoop Dogg
My favorite match of the night was the triple threat match for the new WWE Women’s Championship (thank goodness the stupid Divas belt and title is gone) It was like NXT on the main stage and the match didn’t disappoint. I would have liked to have seen Sasha win the belt but I get why Charlotte (WOOOOOO) was needed to be champ. I can’t wait to see how they incorporate Bayley into the mix.
I didn’t care for the Rumble, even if it had Shaq, DDP, and Tatanka, and I was on Twitter during the world title match.
Overall along with the after Mania Raw and SmackDown, it was a good week for wrestling. Hell a ton of NXT guys made their debut including Big Cass and Enzo. S-A-W-F-T, SAWFT!
Green Batman: If they hold on to the current storyline I’m done with the show. I just don’t like it anymore. At first it was fun, and then Olicity happened which was cool, but then the whole Ra’s event form last season and now Darhk for this season, and I’m over it. I guess its time to give Flash a chance.
MLB Opening Day: Baseball is back and once again I’m rooting for the Holy World Series and both the Angels and Padres started off slow. Slow like one combined run in both team’s opening series. Yeah it was bad. At least the Angels won last night.
Chris Listens To…
I’m a week behind on podcasts but I heard that Cheap Heat (wrestling podcast) is changing because one of the hosts is moving on to Bill Simmons’ team and is starting a wrestling podcast. Also on Adam Carolla he was talking about doing a couple of clean episodes a couple of times a week to appease the sponsors. I guess you have to do that kind of think when you run your own pirate ship. I don’t think this will bother me but when he used Stone Cold as an example, I figured I would probably skip those episodes just like I do with the clean Stone Cold podcast. I’ll try it to see if anything has changed before making a decision.
As for my iTunes library last week I was at 11,837 unlistened to tracks and at this point I am at
I also found a bunch of audio files while doing some spring cleaning on my external hard drives. I added some of my missing audiobooks, and I found a ton of music that I need to go through and see if they are worth having on this version of my iTunes library. In fact I should do that before I play games today.
Other Somewhat Interesting Items
Before WrestleMania I went to the local zoo. It’s a desert zoo that sits at the base of a mountain so you can see bighorn, and take a separate hike through five miles of trails. I didn’t do that but we did get the swanky bracelets to ride in the golf cart trams so we didn’t have to walk the full two miles inside the park. Here are some pictures I took. I decided to only bring one lens and that wasn’t the zoom (my bad) or else I would have taken some cool up close shots. Anyways here are the pics I took
Yeah I always see them but the ones in this enclosure don’t care about humans so you can get close to them.
Same enclosure as the road runner. I should have taken a picture of their info.
Here are the ewes that live up in the mountains. There is a baby on the left that I guess was either the one born a couple of days ago or a couple of months ago. The driver wasn’t sure. Zoom could have come in handy here and the Big Horn on top of the mountain.
Here is some Warthogs including a couple of little newborns. When the driver said the name of the warthogs I said “what a wonderful phrase”. Nobody got it. I think the driver heard all the Lion King stuff already and wasn’t amused.
I always see camels at the local fair but this time you can get up close.
The driver told us that these statues were made out of nails
He went on to say that they had to move them from the original location because they were scaring the birds.
This was me at the end after walking around for a bit.
Thanks for looking at my pictures!
I saw this at Target
Hey record companies, why can’t more of your albums be like this. Buy the CD and have the vinyl version mailed to you for free. I’m sorry but spending $30 for a vinyl copy is insane. I do like that some albums come with a download code for a digital copy but I wouldn’t mind spending $20-25 on a vinyl album if I could get a CD copy too.
Pickups
Games
Speaking of Target I walk in for eggs, and I leave with eggs and a game
I wanted to get this on Steam, but $10 for the PS4 version is fine with me. Its not a bad game.
From Humble Bundle I bought this
I went with the $12 bundle and got the following games
Chivalry: Medieval Warefare
Brothers – A Tale of Two Sons
Ultimate General: Gettysburg
Tropico 5
Grav (Early Access)
Victor Vran
More Games TBA
Homeworld Remastered Collection
I wanted to play Homeworld and Tropico 5, but haven’t started yet. I’m enjoying Brothers, and Victor Vran. These two games are steals at $12.
With my Steam Credit I bought AaaaaAAaaaAAA!!! and The Wonderful End of the World. I also picked up the Aaaaa! Brutal Concussion DLC for a grand total of 3 and change. Aaaaa is a game where you jump off a building and just fall trying to fly close to the buildings. I tried it with a mouse and keyboard and I want to give it a go with a controller. It turns out I can only play a little at a time because I get a bit dizzy.
Music
I found this group through YouTube and they remind me of Paramore
Blossom is a band from Australia and I’ve been listening to this album since Wednesday, and I'll probably order the CD when I get paid.
Alright Pixlpeeps, I am off. Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
For today’s song of the week I thought I’d share the stream. Have a good weekend!
