The real question should be who gives a shit? People like them, they aren't hurting anyone, and they aren't going to overthrow your favourite genre so fuck off with your elitist drivel you entitled cunts.

What is Super Mario Bros?  Does not your character walk from one side of the screen to the next?

It needs more guns and loads of pointless enemies to kill. Take your gay feelings n shit sim elsewhere! And now back to more Senran Kagura Beach Brawl. Its about skills you see.

Honestly, having completed Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, I think some might work better as films. But there were tons of doodads I never picked up, so more power to people who like exploring more that way. I just don't feel all that strong a desire to go back, though I enjoyed the experience.

I completely agree.  Call them whatever the fuck you want, but I'm glad they exist. I've enjoyed most of them that I've played (which is the majority that have made it to consoles).  I just played through firewatch today and thought it was a great experience. I don't understand why so many people were disappointed with the ending.  I'm not sure what they were expecting.

They're not my jam, but if you like them, I'm glad they're out there for you.

Get some of these on consoles, and I'll try them. Walking's fine. Experiencing a world is still an experience. I'm go for it.

Journey is available on PS3, PS4, and Vita (I think). That's a good example of this type of game. They aren't my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal.

Journey, Firewatch, Gone Home, Everyone's Gone to the Rapture, Journey... most of these types of games are on console!

That's true. I think lots of games have the walking sim thing in them. Since people having been talking about it, I think about that when I'm endlessing running from quest to quest in Destiny, and in Minecraft when I have to travel across the map. Sometimes I wish those games didn't have so much walking/running in them. I've permanently damaged my left analog stick by holding it in the up positon so much.

While I do agree that they have every right to exist as much as other games do, the lengths some people go to in defending against even the slightest criticism of them is a little annoying.

I think the lengths people have been going to in order to dismiss an entire genre on the basis that "it's not like what it used to be" is more annoying.

To me they're on the same level of annoyance. Just let people choose what they want to play, without having to either guilt or shame them for it.

I love exploration in games more than pretty much everything else so as long as there is a story in there somewhere I'm good.

When people like to fight and put down other genres of games they need to take a breath and realize that its ok to not enjoy every genre of games out there. If you like it, cool, if not, don't play it.
