The Viewtiful Joe games were great and definitely seemed like a big franchise in the PS2/GameCube days. Then it dropped off the face of the earth. I hated the cartoon, though.
OST Spotlight--Viewtiful Joe 2

These songs bring the term "radical" to the modern gaming world
The first Viewtiful Joe game was an excellent action game with some clever puzzle elements due to the ability to slow down and speed up time. The characters were also full of life and the story was a great spoof on the entire super hero genre. Plus the game was very different and creative for the time.
Viewtiful Joe 2 simply expanded on everything from the first game. It was a longer game, with an improved story, excellent levels, two protagonists, and one final thing: an amazing soundtrack! The ost for the first game is fine, but the second game knocks it out of the park. The themes are loud, vibrant, and inspiring. So sit back and enjoy something which we really don't have anymore. You'll be hard-pressed to find a modern ost that sounds quite like Viewtiful Joe 2.
Memoirs of an Invisible Monster
This is the theme for the third level. It's one non-stop adrenaline kick of a song! Constant movement, along with a futuristic feel, really defines this song. Electric guitars are used in most of the songs, but a heavy driving beat is also used. You'll also notice certain sound effects in the songs. There's just a lot to listen for! Yet it's all very focused and comes together to form an awesome theme.
Thunder Boy Lives Twice
This section of the game has Joe following Alistar, who was a villain in the first game. So this song hearkens back to the first game, in which you travel through China Town and fight Alistar on the roof of a dojo. This would explain why this song has an Asia flare to it. But amidst it you can pick out the main theme to Viewtiful Joe, which they blend together well.
Six x Six Majin
This is a short theme which introduces the Six Majin, which is Joe's flying ship. This is just classic! It feels like a Saturday morning cartoon theme, or even better! It's very heroic and in your face, but it works just fine.
Ice Edge
Get on your snow shoes. This theme is for the snow level of the game. We're used to lighter themes for snow levels, but this one is pretty heavy. The voices and jingle bells are there, but the electric guitar and the piano keep the rock and jazz intact. It's quite the blending of different sounds and themes, and it actually works.
Blizzard Hazzard
This theme is the boss theme for Blizzard Leo, the boss of Ice Edge. I love this song! It's intense, dark, yet hopeful at times. Again, the beat never stops, which is perfect for this intense fight. The boss fights in VJ2 are tough and long. The music goes a long way in making them even more awesome than they already are.
Starship Viewties
This is the theme for the final base in the game. It sounds very futuristic and high-tech. This one is quite inspiring, but there's a lot of things to listen for here. There's a guy that shouts something, then there's a clashing sound, along with various sound effects which move in and out of the song. It just keeps going, which pushes you to do the same. Keep moving!
True Heroes
I simply adore this song! It's the final battle theme, and this final fight is really tough. Luckily, this song is very inspiring, pushing you to do your best. It's epic if ever there was an epic final boss theme. The last part of the song slows down and the organ comes in to remind you that this fight is crucial, then it kicks into high gear again. I could listen to it all day. One of the best final boss themes ever!
Happier Ending
This is the ending credits theme, and it's a medley of all the great themes we've enjoyed throughout the game. Just listen and you'll hear the themes from each of the levels. Of course, the main theme is there too, and the whole thing is just fun. A great ending to a great game.
Well, Viewtiful Joe 2 is one of my favorite games, and the music is a big part of it. What do you remember about this game?
