Video Game YouTubers I Recommend

So when looking at many YouTubers I follow, I realized that a large chunk of them are ones not too many people I know talk about. So I thought I'd give them some recommendations along with a few better known ones that I feel deserve more attention than they get.

ExoParadigmGamer

It says a lot that I can fundamentally disagree with this guy in so many regards, as he is way too forgiving of certain games (Skyward Sword, modern Sonic games) while super critical of others (classic Sonic, Naughty Dog games), but he does give very comprehensive reviews of everything he plays. Not only that, but he'll let you know all the details you need on which version of each game is the best. You won't come away with any questions, even if I recommend taking many of his opinions on certain games with a grain of salt.

The Rageaholic

Maybe Razorfist is a nice guy outside of his YouTube reviews. But in them, he comes across as a pretty big asshole, taking cheap shots at random people which do detract from his reviews. That said, this is the most talented video reviewer I have ever seen. He just gets exactly how to articulate what to say in an interesting or entertaining way.

ShayMay

This guy barely has any videos, but man does he go for quality over quantity. He gives very in depth analysis on several games, with the best analysis of the Sonic the Hedgehog series I have ever seen. He rips off Egoraptor (which he acknowledges), but does a fantastic job with it.

EventStatus

The last three had at least one pretty big issue in my opinion (which is why that I follow them despite this plays to how talented they are at what they do). The next two, however, I have no issues with at all. Event may be loud and seem angry and too unforgiving, but the guy is consistent with everything he reports on. He has integrity and is never all negative with his videos, he wants you to come away knowing that he loves this community which is why he's so critical on it. He's the only source I go to for gaming news nowadays.

Liana K

Right now Liana is the best person reporting on games right now. Fairness is the basis of everything, she has a clear opinion, but will look at everything from all sides and realizes that everyone she deals with is a human being. Her schedule is also very fun (Mondays deal with weekend controversy, Tuesdays are about feminism in gaming, etc), but it's the content and amount of reseach she puts into everything that are why you should follow her videos.

A lot of YouTube folks annoy me because they curse every other word or they're more interesting in making videos and not actually playing the games they're talking about.  With that said, I have found a lot of good ones that talk about classic games, and some folks like "PeanutButterGamer" don't curse or talk very negative and such.  I guess I'm also a little jealous on how these YouTube folks have taken off and gotten famous instead of me.  I don't really have the money and resources and knowhow for a YouTube channel right now, so I'll just have to make do and be happy with what I have.

Nice list. Literally haven't heard of any of these. Rageaholic might not be my thing though. Overwhelming cynicism just annoys me now (yeah, I know, the irony) and that video just reminds me of modern moviebob.

It's easy to be negative and funny. It's harder to be positive and funny, which is why I love Cool Ghosts and Matt Lees. I also like more intellectual stuff like Matthewmatosis, Super Bunnyhop, Errant Signal, and others like that - so Shay and Exo look like they'll be right up my alley. Thanks for this post at any rate.

I think excentuating the negative can be done well if done with tact. Yahtzee has done it for almost a decade and is still going strong. And Razorfist isn't perfect by any stretch but man he just gets how to make a video. I'd also recommend you check Classic Game Room, it's better known (dude makes as much off Patreon as Jim Sterling) but he's hilarious while always staying positive. If CGR says something sucks, it has to be really bad

I haven't had much time for video stuff. I get a lot of podcast listening in at work, but outside work, I'm pretty busy with stuff, and gaming.
