I am Vengance...

Hello everyone how are you? It's National SuperHero Day today, or was depending on when this gets posted and when you read it. Really great coincidence too as I've just finished rewatching them a few days ago, and finished TDK yesterday. So in honor of National SuperHero Day, I thought I May as well talk about them.

Let's begin with Batman Begins...

Batman Begins

I remember when I first saw this, I kinda got bored to be honest. Here's the thing though, I was in a sickbed when I first saw this movie and was under medication. Some that made me sleepy and such, which was probably the reason I got bored, or in that case literally fell asleep. When I was finally better, I saw the movie for 5 bucks brand new and decided to give it another go, this time not under the influence of medication.

I really quite enjoyed it rewatching it that time. I've rewatched it earlier this week and it's a great movie. I think by far one of the better superhero origin movies out there, if not the best. It takes a while for Batman to show up on screen, but that's why it's an origins movie, thus the name Batman Begins. Really did love the "realistic" take on Batman himself, like the gadgets, the Batmobile, and the villains. It's a much more darker take on Batman, then again Batman is pretty much dark anyway. I guess that's why I like Batman because they can make the stories ligh-hearted or dark, or in between.

Alot of people say that it's based on the Batman: Year One story and that it uses elements from it. I've never read the story, but have seen the animated movie of it, so I understand the elements and the story. It actually reminded me alot of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, which actually borrows from Year One as well. Though I saw Mask of the Phantasm first, which is why I use that for reference.

Anyway, Batman Begins is a great movie and a good start to a new Batman movie trilogy.

The Dark Knight

Eventually I found out that there was a sequel thanks to a nurse at the hospital, which I thought was Batman Continues. I watched it there and this one seemed much more interesting to me than the first. It was an interesting take to call it The Dark Knight since most sequels have a 2 or something indicating that it's a sequel. Anyway, I really enjoyed it when I saw it. Everything was just wow, the stakes here were higher.

The opening was great, it starts you off in a bank heist and everyone is talking about the Joker. I was excited since the last movie implied that the Joker would be in a movie. I really liked how the thugs were going on through the crime, killing each other off in order to get a bigger payout. But only to find out that, Joker was there with those thugs the whole time. It was really great how they didn't tell you that he was there.

Batman was now a symbol of sorts in Gotham, that he even had followers dressed like Batman running around going to crimes and such. It was funny how Batman took out Scarecrow in less than 5 minutes, kinda made the previous movie pointless in a way? IDK

What really sells this movie is the Joker, he wasn't like any other Joker I have ever seen. He wasn't just a guy who fell in acid, he was this guy who put on some clown paint and brought Gotham to its knees. I really can't say more because you really have to see it for yourself if you haven't.

I bought it eventually once I was better, found it for 7 bucks, but it was definitely worth its original price. I rewatched it so many times since and has become my favorite superhero movie.

As for The Dark Knight Rises...I haven't seen it yet. I want to, but something in my head tells me not to for some reason. I don't know why. Alot people have divided opinions on this movie. I should see it at some point, just don't know when.

I guess that's about it really. What's your favorite of the Nolan Batman movies? What's your favorite superhero movie of all time? Thanks for reading and Happy SuperHero Day!

I liked the last three Batman movies.  I watched a lot of the Batman cartoon in the 90s, so I'm more familiar with Batman than any other superhero.  I like the different approach the Batman movies had.  Most (not all) other superhero movies are just cleverly disguised kids' movies.  But the last three Batman movies are definitely NOT for kids.  The one with the Joker really stands out.  When you heard his "theme song" that sounded like a dryer backfiring, you know something bad was about to happen.  I don't really know if I have a favorite superhero movie, though.

By the way, I have a new Nintendo-themed blog up that you might be interested in reading if you get a chance.

I've liked all the Batman movies but none excited me the way the Batman Animated Series on TV did.
