Everybody else jumped off the bridge, so I'm doing it too.

Howdy, folks. Since a lot of long-dormant 1UP alumni are coming out of the shadows, I figured I'd hop on that little bandwagon. When in Rome (or Baltimore)....

Gaming wise, here's what I've been doing: playing two remasters and one original 8G game. So far this year, three of my four favorite games of all time, according to my 1UP blog, have been re-released on the PS4 and Wii U. And Dragon Quest VIII is coming to 3DS this year, so that's four of four. :) And these games are just as good now as they were then.

Twilight Princess HD: I got the version with the Wolf Link Amiibo. This is my favorite Zelda of all time, and is my second favorite video game of all time (behind Final Fantasy VII), but I forgot how awesome it really was. The world, the dungeons, and the gameplay are still as awesome as ever and just like how I dreamed Zelda when I was 10 years old and playing the NES original, and Midna is far and away my favorite companion for Link. The graphics cleaned up nicely too, a lot better than many people would have you think.

Nights of Azure (PS4): This action RPG is made by Gust (Atelier series) and the combat is sort of like Gust's take on Musou games. I wanted to get this, my wife ended up getting it for me, but it was better than I thought it would be. I really like the anime artwork in the game, too.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered: Number four on my all time favorite games list. Preordered, so I got the Steelbook edition. I kept hearing that they didn't do much to "remaster" it, but I can tell you that that's wrong: not only are the graphics sharper and cleaner to where you can make out a lot of text and writing in the artwork, but the game now runs at 60 FPS compared to 30 FPS on PS3.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE (Wii U): Preordered the collectors' edition.

RPG Maker MV: I took advantage of the Golden Week discount for this one. So far, I've done one map in a desert setting and a few battle scenes set against actual photos taken in Arizona. I have a few ideas for games I might want to make, but between work and playing other games, I need to get some ambition going.

My YouTube channel: I've decided to try my hand at being a YouTuber, though I certainly have no illusions about being the next PewDiePie. My videos are a mix of videos recorded from my PS4 (I also do Twitch from time to time on PS4) and videos recorded from my Atari 8-bit emulator of games I enjoyed on the Atari 8-bit computers that I wrote about. Some of my YouTube videos have commentary, some don't. Anyway, my Youtube Channel is called Super King 1978. Right now I'm recording videos of Valkyria Chronicles Remastered (battles only).

So, that's my gaming life right now. Glad to hear from a few 1UP/Pixlbit alumni and glad to make my own contribution to the festivities, since I managed to make one piddling blog about Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for BaD in February. Peace out, y'all!

I might have to try Valkryia Chronicles at some point.  We share the same favorite game of all time, and I know you think just as highly of Ni no Kuni as I do.  Also, Dragon Quest VIII is one of my favorite games as well.

I've been playing Rogue Galaxy.  First time run of the game, never got it when it originally came out because I wasn't gaming much when it released.  Just like all Level-5 games, it's super addicting.

I have the original print of Rogue Galaxy (and a 200-page strategy guide to go with it), but I did pick up the PS4 digital version since it was cheap and it has trophies. Sadly, it's still on old Mt. Backlog. The game is awesome, as a Level-5 game should be, but Zelda and Valkyria, man. Oh, and definitely looking forward to Ni no Kuni 2. :)

I think I might take 2 or 3 days off when Ni no Kuni 2 comes out.  The first one was so great from start to finish, I feel that if I worked on the first few days it released I would be doing the developers and the world a disservice.

I'm thinking of doing the same. The only game I actually took a day off from work to play at launch was Final Fantasy XII (where's the HD remaster of THAT game, Square Enix?) For Ni no Kuni 1, I had the good fortune of the launch being on a day I already had off. Hopefully Namco won't screw up with the collectors' edition of Ni no Kuni 2 the way they did selling all those Wizards' Editions to that scalper in Canada, but I did get a free hardcover strategy guide out of that deal.

I just got Valkyria Chronicles Remastered but I got sidetracked by new achievements for Minecraft. Soon, oh soon.

I'm kind of glad I never got into Minecraft. And I've enjoyed plenty of other God games like SimCity. :) Right now, I can't even get my RPG Maker MV project off the ground because I'm so busy playing other games.

RPG Maker is so cool. I think about that often. I'd love to make a game.

Good to hear from you.  I enjoyed the HD remake of Twilight Princess much more than the Wii one.  My two favorite characters are Princess Zelda and Agitha. :)

I never played the Wii TP. I got the Gamecube version instead, and that was a conscious choice on my part (well my wife's, since she got it for me). I'm glad Nintendo used the Gamecube version as a point of reference instead of the Wii version, because TP HD is even more awesome on Wii U than on Gamecube.

Ya know, I'm feeling kind of left out, I don't own a single console that plays any of the games you're talking about. Going to go cry into a nice glass of single malt now.

Awwwww...I'm sorry.
