Every once in a while I think about running through a bunch of light gun games. I remember playing Time Crisis but I never played the Point Blank series.

I decided that since I've hit a lull in writing reviews, it couldn't hurt to shift focus for a bit and talk about the games I've steady been aquiring over the last month. As I mentioned in my previous update, I posted these pictures on my Instagram and I though it'd be fun to share them with you guys. Unfortunately, there's one photo I could not upload, becaue I had to delete stuff from my phone back when I still had an aging 16GB iPhone 5S and needed to make space for other stuff. But I'll still mention the items aren't seen in this post.
So first, let's start with the items not pictured. Since I aquired an old CRT TV about a year ago, I found that I had desire to play light gun on the PlayStation again. While I do have a PS3, it's hooked up to a different TV in our bedroom, plus it's impossible to play PS\PS2 gun games with the actual gun peripheral intended for each system. Long story short, Idecided that it was time to repurchase a PS2 and hook it up to the old TV.
The funny thing about trying to buy anything "retro" these days is that everbody wants lots of $$$ for common hardware that really shouldn't cost that much. But I gotta give a special shout-out to Angelo. I told him what I was looking for and he pointed me in the right direction so that I didn't end up paying too much. A day or two later, I had a silver slim model PS2 waiting for me when I came home!
Meanwhile, I found sweet deal on eBay where a seller was willing to bundle Point Blank 1, 2, & 3 (all complete an in great shape) with the Namco GunCon without paying an arm and leg for it. I can't tell you how happy I was when they finally arrived in the mail. I always enjoyed play all three games back in the on my PlayStation. It's really good have them back in the fold again!
Now that i've got that out the way, I can finally get to the item I actually have a picture of...Time Crisis (for much less than the old $15 price tag). It was love at first sight when I originally played this in the arcade. This was yet another a PS game that I regret having sold some years back. Sure, the graphics are as polished as in the arcade version, but you just couldn't beat that duck-and-cover mechanic! So many afternoons squandered playing this one. I felt like a real crackshot when I got good at it. And it probably has my favorite intro phrase ever-- "There's been a kidnapping"! Also, I loved the actiony music all throught the game.
So that's it for this edition of my pick-ups backlog. I'll get you all caught up on my aquisitions from April through May, then see where it goes from there.
