I Tagged Miyamoto! / Unexpected Buying Spree

I wan't expecting to find so many great deals this weekend. The most expensive was Tetris DS @ $20. I spent more than I was expecting, around a $100. I like to hunt around at the mom and pop stores, because usually they have the best deals. Video stores are a good bet, too, since they have had to branch out into other areas to stay in business. Some Gamestops are having a lot of good current generation games in bargain bins of $20 or $10 and under as well. I thought about picking up Wolfenstein and the Lost Planet games, since they're all under 10, but I had to stay in budget. Maybe when I get my taxes back this next month.

Also, I tagged Shigeru Miyamoto on Streetpass! At least, I think I did. He showed up and said,  "Hello Luigi fans!" He also had every puzzle piece and was at Level 5 on Find Mii. Was it really him? Judge for yourself!

Hope you all had a good holiday. Happy gaming.

Well hey, I'm sure thousands have his autograph by now, but how many have tagged him on Streetpass?!

I'm not sure. I was freaking out when he popped up in Mii Plaza!

Maybe! I stopped in at the Markland Mall in Kokomo Indiana that day. There were a lot of people there. It could have just been a Nintendo fan. But if that was the case, how could he be Level 5 and have 21 puzzles completely filled out?

Miyamoto was actually delivered via Spotpass, and not Streetpass. You happened to be in an area where your 3DS was connected to the internet to receive him! He, and various other special, level 5 gold pants Miis have been distributed.

Of course, you can also Streetpass with gold-pants Miis. At E3 2011, I managed to tag with a few, myself, including Peter Moore, IIRC.

Cool! I was wondering why he had different colored pants. Teh mystery is solved. Gotta catch 'em all? heh

Yeah I got Miyamoto, too.  Reggie Fils-Ame was a SpotPass thing done in a similar fashion a while back. Thing is, I've actually tagged him for real in StreetPass at E3, along with Yuji Naka!

Cool!  You got Super Princess Peach!  And WarioWare: D.I.Y. was my Game of the Year for 2010.

Good stuff. I also got somebody called Moffitt 9 months ago. He was wearing an NES for a hat. heh

Yeah that's one of the hats you can unlock in Find Mii II.  I just unlocked a Famicom hat.

Man, nice haul; FFV, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, a DS DQ game I can't quite make out, Super Princess Peach, and Tetris DS.  I just finished up FFV Advance a few days ago; always enjoyed that one.  Anywho, congrats on the great pick ups!

Thanks! It's actually DQ IX. It was going for $12 at Gamestop.

I've always wanted to play Mario Pinball and Super Princess Peach, as well as Ninja Gaiden!Warioware DIY and Tetris sound like good ones, too.

Be careful of Sonic the Hedgehog for GBA though, I've heard not-so-great things about that port. Looks like you got it for cheap though, so that's good.

And you tagged Miyamoto! With gold pants! Nice!

Yeah, the Sonic was $6, so I figured I might as well check it out. It's not all that bad, other than the fact that it plays slow and is really close up to the character.

I have to get that GBA Version of FFV. I completely forgot about it and starting playing an English translation of the Super Famicom game instead.

That version has the extra classes and dungeon, and plays better than the PSX version. Good luck tho, since that game didn't have a big production run.

Miyamoto's Mii looks incredibly like him. It's uncanny. Those are some great deals! I want that Front Mission game you found. I kinda suck at those giant mech games, but I dig them. Armored Core was one I was sorta good at back in the day. Hope you had a splendid Easter!

Thanks, you too! I picked up FM Evolved because I heard good things about the series, and it was complete for under $10. If nothing else, it can go in my Square Enix game collection if it's bad lol.

Nice pickups! I don't have a 3DS so I haven't tried Streetpass, but that is one cool feature, and is pretty cool you found Miyanmoto.

Basically, you can tag people and use their Mii's in a couple different minigames on the device. You also get play coins by walking around with the device to use in them, up to 10 a day. It's pretty cool, but I wish there was a game on there that let you play with others' Mii's, like maybe a sim game or virtual town.
