So it's been like 4 months since I was last active. Those around February when BaD was going on may remember that I was commenting on the blogs of early February, maybe with the hope that I would catch up on the thing. Unfortunately, I lost the energy to continue (I had less than 150 notifications up that point) and very much was inactive here. Since i'm in my quite long summer break since the 25th of May, I thought i'd be a good time to update my page here and also tell you all how i've been.

On these last 5 months I had my third university semester. In general, I did much better than last year in my second semester, and though I did miss one of the classes, the score wasn't low enough to affect significantly the percentage i've accomulated and even so, i'm going to repeat that class the very next semester.

Aside from that, I was more active on websites like Tumblr, mostly for my interest, but a lot of times raging at the stupidity rampant over there, spent more time watching Youtube videos, looking at gaming news (sometimes raging at the stupidity of devs and journos), actually being critical to Nintendo lately despite being a longtime fan (please, never mention NoA and the Treehouse localization department on a positive light in front of me) and belive it or not, actually concentrating on games for once. Ever since I made an account on Backloggery, i've been concentrating in beating games and due circumstances involving studying, I wasn't allowed to buy games, so I took chance and actually help solve my problem of not finishing games. My next blog will be all about the games i've finished so far, perhaps also mention the games i've gottent before I wasn't allowed to get them.

If anyone hasn't yet, you can see and add me on Backloggery here. I've actually found Daftman and followed him and also added Knight Driver since he also seems to be one of the few active from this site, though he hasn't replied to my comment yet.

If i'm unactive again, just consider me that uncle just visits the family once a holiday.

hey man nice to hear from you. I'm glad you are doing well in school.

I have a problem not finishing games, but I really haven't had time for them lately.  I did play a bit of Grandia last night though.

I did well even with the lost class. Hope i don't waste the experience i've accomulated during this past three semesters.

After making an account over Backloggery, i've felt more dedicated to beat games and though it may be a dauting task, my library is pretty low by gaming standards. I can see your problem with beating games if you have a giant library.

My steam library is especially daunting

Sorry I don't use Backloggery anymore.  It was becoming too much of a chore at that point in my life.  Now that I have figured more about my gaming habits and desires, I could probably put it to good use again.

Initially, I was putting all the games I owned on backloggery.  There are so many games that I own, but I have no desire to finish or even play...  The PS+ library is a large chunk of that.  What I need to do start fresh on Backloggery and only put the games that I have a genuine interest in and hope to play.

Personally, i'm still putting my entire owned library since it's not that big to me and I also have that site as a place where I can show my library to anyone. If anything, it's making me excited to play old games I never beat as a kid.

And that is just fine.  It's best to tailor tools like Backloggery to your needs.  If I have some time over the next week or so I may try to go back and rework my backloggery account.  Sometimes it is nice to have your entire collection of games that you want to play in one, fairly easy to read spot.

Hey Alex, always good to have you drop in.

My pile of unplayed and partly played games continues to grow. I want to sit down and play something but whenever I have the time I just can't find the energy or the inclination.

Thanks Peter.

I'm trying to cut my habit of getting games, but never advance that much into them or not even playing them right away. I get you with trying to play games, but not having the interest in starting them, though now I have set that if I want to play certain genre or game, I will spend my time in the one i've started or one I haven't beaten.

Nice to hear from you.

I can't go on Tumblr anymore, mostly because it seems to be a hive of hatefilled extremists/porn and I get enough of both in my day to day life to not fuck with it.

And I would make a backlog thing, but honestly if a game doesn't grab me enough to want to finish it, I'm not going to force myself to.

Keep on keeping on, and I hope to see more of you!

Trust me Blake, me and a group of sane others I follow over there think it's has become a hellish website due to MANY things, but just like Hotel California, I don't have the power to leave the place. Besides, I've already met some good people and don't wanna lose contact with them.

Well, Backloggery allows you to put a game on Null, which besides for games with no definitive ending or end goal, or repeat version of a game you've already Beat (unless you also want to Beat that version), it can also be put for games you don't want to beat. I myself decided not to go there since I do want to beat games regardless of quality and give a proper opinion about them.

Just noticed your comment. I haven't had one in a while, so I forgot to look there. I use backloggery as mainly an online database. As I beat games, I tend to trade them in and take them off backloggery. So it'll always be like 90% unfinished games on there for me. But it helps me keep track of all those digital games I could easilty forget about. Those will never leave the site because I can't trade them.

I have a friend who moved to Oaxaca Mexico to write and escape the U.S. rat race. I somewhat envy him. But that's not Colombia, but it's near Guatamala. Somewhat close to Colombia. Also, I just read a history of South America recently. Very interesting.

Good to hear from you.

I mainly use Backloggery as my main method in beating games as I don't consider myself someone that gives up on them. Hopefully it also helps me in getting rid of my habit of never beating that many games.

Okay, both are Latin American all right, but Guatemala and Mexico are in Central America, while Colombia is in South America, albeit on the north and bordering Panama and there's about 5 to 6 countries in the way from Colombia to Guatemala and viceversa. Wonder if your reading of South America mentioned that Panama used to be part of Colombia.

Good to hear from you too.

I kind of mixed up a bunch of different things in that comment about Central and South America. I read about the revolutions in South America (Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, etc..) and Salmon Rushdie's book on the revolution in Nicaragua, in Central America. It all made me look at revolutionary movements differently and how foreign powers have impacted those areas.
