Wow! Zelda really is going open world in a big way. I like it. I think this might be the first Zelda I preorder. I was advised to not get a Wii-U right now and wait for the NX, but I don't know.

Link vs. Wild
Hello everyone, how are you? Sorry for the late post, kinda tired but Nintendo finally showed Zelda for the Wii U/NX titled...
The game looks stunning. It's like a mix of Twilight Princess and Wind Waker when it comes to its visuals. I'm guessing this is what Skyward Sword was sort of trying to achieve on the Wii, but looks way way better here. They have said it's like Japanese Animation or anime if you were to talk about its graphical art style. It looks really stunning in motion.
The game will have you, Link (or whatever you end up naming him) exploring a massive world of Hyrule. The map size is 12x larger than the one of Twilight Princess, which Twilight Princess was pretty big. The game has a more survival focus this time around. In the game, you can find stuff like weapons, shields, clothing, materials, and food. Weapons, shields, and clothing play a big role to the survival aspect of the game. You can find weapons via treasure chests in the overworld or nab them from defeated enemies, like how you could grab a giant sword in Wind Waker, except you get to keep it here. Each melee, shield, and clothing conditions worsen over time, like a sword can break if its condition is low. It's like in Fallout, like when you use a weapon too much it eventually breaks. Your bow even breaks. Weapons include swords, spears, clubs, hammers, axes and more. You can even cut down trees which you can use a bridge to get across gaps in the enviroment.
Food plays a big role too. Like in Fallout, you often had to eat food to recover your HP. The same thing applies here. They mentioned that there are no hearts in the game, so you'll have to rely on hunting wildlife in the game. You can also cook multiple ingredients to make better food that'll recover you more health and add temporary hearts. I don't think they showed what the materials do, but I imagine it's for crafting or making equipment stronger. Weather also plays a role in the game and has an effect on Link. Like if it's cold, Link can lose health, so you can either cook something that'll keep him warm or give him some more appropriate attire for the cold. You can also equip Link with armor as well.
The game will have 4 main dungeons and 100 optional dungeons like in the rumor stated. They didn't show main dungeons but they showed off areas called Shrines, that grant Link a new ability. Abilities shown include magnetizing objects, to stopping certain things in the enviroment from moving, to creating special ice blocks to get across certain areas in bodies of water. They didn't show any towns or npcs because they wanted to keep it spoiler free, but they did show one npc, an old man which will most likely play a big role in the game. The map is huge, they said they only showed 2% of the map from what they showed. The raft also returns too. They mentioned that the game draws inspiration from the first Legen of Zelda when it comes to the exploration and enviroment.
New to the game is you can now climb things in the enviroment. Like trees, things like monuments, and mountains. They mentioned you could climb on every mountain in the game. There might be a boundary or so, who knows. Link can also climb on big enemies so he can attack them, like in SotC. Link can also jump too. The stamina meter from Skyward Sword returns which allows Link to run and climb things, as well as use a more stronger version of the spin attack.
Also announced are new amiibo for the game, which will release in 2017. Not sure what they do though, since my internet was causing me trouble when they were talking about what they do. However if you have the Wolf Link and Midna amiibo from Twilight Princess HD, tapping it on the gamepad will give you a wolf partner. The wolf can aid you in battle such as attack enemies and so on. There are no partner characters this time around. It's just you and the game.
Speaking of which, the game has voice-acting, though they said Link would still be silent. They didn't mention how much voice-acting was in the game though. The game will also support the Wii U Pro Controller and the game will be the same on the NX as it is shown on the Wii U. Both games will launch together on 2017.
There's probably way more stuff I missed, but I didn't catch the whole stream unfortunately. I did watch the first 5 hours I think. But that's about it. The game looks fantastic and loving all the new things you can do. It's literally Link vs. Wild here from what we saw. There's more info like the streams Nintendo did for the game on their youtube if you're interested.
But that's about it. Oh I left some images of the game below, some have bigger sizes, just roll your mouse over to see which ones do. I'll do a whole Nintendo E3 recap towards the end of E3, so look forward to that if you are interested. Well that's all for now, thanks for reading and later.
