Hey Pixlpeeps! I saw this article on my Twitter feed and I thought I'd share it with you

"Stop Ruining Console Games With PC Headaches"

(if you don't trust the link: https://theringer.com/intervention-stop-ruining-console-games-with-pc-headaches-a636763cdedb#.4rwzi9ire that's the address)

It's an interesting read, and well I like reading the comments. Anyways I have no problems with either console or PC games. I recently just got back into PC games and I'm enjoying both worlds. The only real headache I enountered with GTA IV not playing nice with Steam. Other than that it has been buy game, copy Steam code, paste into Steam and download. Anyways thought I'd share, have a good Wednesday!

That's all for now, more later!

While I dont agree fully at all with him, I will say Im not very happy about the PC like upgrade system coming to consoles. I like buying one thing and having it a good number of years. However, as seeing that this is a trend that has grown super popular this was pretty much coming. I can either accept it, continue to enjoy games or leave the hobby behind. Leaving the hobby behind isnt actually a option for me so Im left with accepting it.

I thought his argument had a lot of flaws but it also seems like many feel the same way. I think there is room for folks who just want to have a no fuss system under their TV, and other folks who want to constantly tinker to get the most out of their games.

It seems like this has been a slow evolution of consoles, and it seems that in the future it's going to be more PC than just dedicated console.

"Off base on this one. PC’s can still play all the newest games for the most part. You just run them at lower settings. The issue with Consoles is they want to play PC games on consoles. PC gamers have to put up with dumb restrictions placed on games because they are being ported to consoles and you have to put up with some bugs because of porting PC games to consoles. The game companies do this so they can appeal to the broadest audience. I could go on but sufficed to say I think you are off base on this one." - commenter

That's why I like reading the comments on articles like this. If the article wasn't so slanted I think it could have been an interesting topic

I prefer console games because I don't have to deal with the uncertainty of "will this run on my machine?" and such.  Plus I just like being able to plop down on the couch to play a game on my TV, not at a computer desk.

I used to be like that but I found that it isn't as difficult as I once thought it was. There are so many graphical options that even on the lowest settings it still (in my opinion) above what the PS4 outputs.

In my situation having a laptop (a budget "gaming" laptop) gives me the freedom to play my games hooked up to a TV, playing outside, take it on the go, on top of being a laptop.

The author could have some fair points if this was made a few years back, but I feel he doesn't see the full picture. I know it seems daunting, but nowadays that tech has advanced greatly and certain advanced hardwares start getting cheaper, it's easy to build and/or get a computer apt for gaming, and it's already posible to get a proper game running by changing it's setups. He also forgets that nowadays it's more easy to update and perhaps faster for games to update on PC than consoles, which come to my point that the big problem is the fact that consoles outside of Nintendo are trying to be computers, without understanding their posible capacities and limitations, and with the obsession in pretty detailed graphics at the cost of better fluid 60 fps gameplay, it leaves them steps-behind computers. Ever since I started to play more games at 60, I do agree it's better for games, which makes getting a PS4 or Xbone seem like a waste considering that I feel like i'm playing an inferior version limited by its setting on console rather than the variety you get on computers, which honestly it's why despite its flaws, I love my Wii U due to Nintendo and its developers understanding that we're playing a console and understanding the importance of gameplay. Seriously, Smash Bros. at 30 would feel incredibly awkward.

I haven't thankfully and will never become a "PC mustard race" guy, but nowadays i'm more inclined to have PC as my main gaming system since I really want the better gaming experience that you can't simply get most of the time on most consoles, and will probably stick to Nintendo for consoles if it means they'll be the only ones that care about a good gaming experiences. I do think that with the NX on the rise and the announcement of the upgraded PS4 and Xbone consoles, companies will finally get the idea of what console gaming means and even though I said it's bad that consoles should copy computers, I do think they can learn from them about improved option settings and the option for people on how they want to experience games. The Last of Us Remaster I feel is a small but significant acomplishment due to giving the option of players for the original high detailed graphic setting or the option of one slightly downgraded in graphics but in full 60 fps.

Man, I can't believe how long this went.

I agree that PC gaming has become easier and updating games is a lot faster. I've complained a couple of times about the update files on PS4 take forever to download while on Steam its quick and easy. I think there is a place for both console and PC gaming, it seems like both sides are slowly meeting somewhere in the middle. I like that Microsoft is making their new games available on both X1 and PC, so I can enjoy those games without buying another console.

I'll always buy Sony consoles but now I'll always look for the PC version of games first before buying it on a Sony device.
