Wow, I've been gone for 6 mouths! Le Sigh...

I've been doing overtime where I work and it's been draining me to the point I've barely been able to play any games, spent most the time sleeping and eating. And I've been moved from one department to another, so there's training and adjusting.
While That's gone on my internet connection hasn't worked correctly since January (either a snails pace or instantaneous cut off!), thanks to shoddy building our neighbours pipes leaked into our house and have begun re-plastering and painting 2-3 rooms with a new carpet on it's way.
My dad had gaul stones the size of marbles and had his Gaul bladder removed, he's recovering just fine.
I need a new and bigger shelf because... well I'm gaining and have too much crap I refuse to throw away! Laughing

I'm one week into my company appointed holiday (the first I've taken in 3 years) and I feel refreshed enough to invade your lives again.

-Watched Captain America 3 and Batman v Superman
While with Cap 3 I got everything I wanted and more BvS made me angry at just how average it was, ironic seeing as it's better than Man of Steel, I have been debating and ranting about this film ever since as it buckled under the weight of mediocrity the Highlights only being Batman's scenes and the novelty the DC Trinity was on screen for the first time. The "Martha" was created, so it's not all bad Smile
Maybe i'll express my problems after the Ultimate Cut is released...

-I purchased and Beat the main story to Xenoblade Chronicles X (I bought the limited edition and Book),
Monolith have out done themselves interns of a finished product, it's certainly more visually engaging than certain higher-res games. The final boss can kiss my arse though.Undecided

-I Finished Persona 4
I've finally nipped this game in the bud after years of putting it off, it's fun, really interesting and i'll admit sometimes out me off guard, this means I can finally watch the anime! Laughing

-I bought and Played Guilty Gear Xrd and Street Fighter V
I haven't been able to dedicate enough time to either but immediately Xrd is the better game, for obvious reasons (one being a complete game), I like elements to SFV like V-Skills and suck but I feel like it's too slow like buttons delays and moves have more frames to execute, Ken is usually my main but I CAN NOT use him effectively anymore, his V-Skill is faaaar too dangerous. Maybe I should go into the mountains and train?
I heard Tekken 7 is coming to PC. Excellent.

-I got a bunch more toys! (hence I need a new shelf) I've purchased some gundams 3 Nightwings and a Majora's Mask Link and too many Graphic Novels and gaming books, we'll go through them when the time comes.

-The world of comics seems to be exploding!
Power Rangers has a Comic book (1 Pink Ranger solo soon), Archie Comics, DC Comics and Marvel have recently gone through a reboot! I've got my Marvel reboot (Secret Wars, it's good) signed by the Very talented artist. Street Fighter comics are back in full swing. If I wasn't soo cheap, I'd be broke!

- Batman: The Killing Joke
A very highly regarded Batman story of the 80s has finally gotten the animated treatment, I was fully prepared to wait for the blu-ray but as it so happens, even Britain is getting a cinematic release. You need to think about how big that is, do you know the last Batman Animated movie to be shown in cinema was? Mask of the Phantasm.
Arguably the best depiction of Batman animated or otherwise on the big screen since this year was over 20 years ago, in 1993, the same year Batman Forever came out .
If you want to know the significant of all that is, please watch this below and you might understand why this is a big deal for me, I even have the original comic signed by artist and writer! I've already bought my ticket Laughing

-I've watched a few new anime
Ghost in the Shell Arise, is okay, a kind of Reboot Origin of sorts. I watched One Piece up to 700, this series will NEVER END. I re-watched Metropolis after several years, I hate crying :(
I watched Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, mixed. It is better than the first series but I think the first 1 got the Tone much better, in the first series the Humunculous was more personal to the characters and their sins, there was blatant racism and many of the shocking moments really get at you. But what it got right the most was probably just the gravity the level of sacrifice needed to make a Philosophers stone. Still, Brotherhood explained it's history and the nature of Alchemy far better. So, give and take. Watched Psycho Pass and going to watch Persona 4 and Macross Plus soon enough as well.

-Music
Prince Dead, Bowie dead Beiber and Drake are still breathing, life sucks. My nephew was singing that "Black and Yellow" song, I told him "that song is stupi" and his response was "Yeah, I know" and the song "Panda" is everywhere and even though the beats alright, it's utter non sense (even Kevin Hart found out the hard way) and I wish Drake fans would disappear! I'm sick of his passionless utterances and weak as biscuit lyrics. the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Gregory Porter have new albums and thanks to watching American Psycho again I'm listening to 80s music again. When I was a boy in the 90s, I watch VH1 it was all music from the 80s and 70s most of the time.

Well we're caught up, I know quite a lot has happened to you, some got ill, some got new games, some got older! Definitely never doing 5 days a week, I hit my peak at 4. I'm going to try and be more regular now, i promise, Maybe... I'll try Tongue Out

This Is V saying "I'm gonna take some time"

I haven't seen the BAtman/Superman movie and I don't want to.  heard too many terrible things, and I am a huge fan of those characters. IT makes me very upset that it's so crappy, and a lot of people will be getting their first taste of those characters in such a mediocre fashion. Grrr.

The thing is there is a lot of good stuff in it, Batman and Alfred, Wonder Woman, the Action, the music (when yuo can hear it) but it not cohesive becausee they put multiple stories in one film instead of telling 1 good one.

The people who created this tried to be smart but ended up looking dumb (I mean there's a jar of piss in this film) because it hinges on 1 character being out of character.

Despite my misgiving I don't regret seeing it, it's average to okay. Watch the Ultimate Cut, I doubt it'll change the movie but maybe the pace will improve.

How is Persona 4 overall?  I bought it and played for a while, but couldn't grasp the game. People say the combat is easy, I found it to be very hard.  I liked the story and I know that's the main draw to the game, but I couldn't see why it was so praised by so many people.  I'm gonna give it another try and try to maybe blog about it and go to sites to be better at it, because the first time I was just awful.  I like to level grind in JRPGs, didn't seem to work in that game.

It took me a while to get in it as well because of all the time management and Persona fusing which might be the hardest part. Overall I like it.

The way social life affects your powers in the Midnight channel is rather good, it's the best social mechanic I've seen in a while, the mystery is decent too.

Fusing Personas are the worst thing for me but after getting used to status effects the game is actually much easier.

But I give it a thumbs up, it made me genuinely smile quite often.Smile

Yeah the fusing is what I remember not understanding. It made no sense. Also, the amount of times my characters missed attacks in combat was infuriating.

I hate to be "that guy", but Batman Forever came out in 1995, not 1993. Mask of the Phantasm was awesome though. The 90's Batman Animated Series overall was pretty cool. It the first superhero show that I remember being bold enough to have a more serious tone but still watchable for kids.

I knew I had that date wrong! Oh well.

A cool aspect of MoP was that it was very different from the usual story, there's not even an actual victory. the Timm-verse took maturity without the pandering, the only superhero show that did that was Young Justice.

I tried watching Batman V Superman, and I couldn't stand any more than a half hour.  I'm biased towards Marvel to be sure, but I'll give almost anything a chance, but the plot was so dumb.  Civil War gives me a lot of confidence that Marvel and the Russos can balance all the great characters and deliver a spectacular climax in Infinity War, and I'm looking forward to GotG2 and Thor Ragnarok to see how those films may set it up.

Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator definitely hands Street Fighter its ass, both in the number of characters and especially in the looks dept.  I just can't get into SFV's art style, and the character designs are underwhelming.  I haven't played enough of either to get good though.

Metropolis is one of my favorite anime films, as it is one of a select few that go beyond just looking good and having a lot of action or a mature plot to actually generating an emotional response in me, the viewer.  Macross Plus is another favorite.  Watch the OVA as well as the movie version.  Yoko Kanno is one of the best composers ever.

I'm a DC guy at heart, even thouggh I ihad very little confidence in Snyder an co I  was verry open when watching it... But me and some others in the audience Laughed our tongues off when little Bruce started floating. That's 10-15mins into the movie. I had soo much hope.Frown

Xrd is taking some time to get used to as it's a little slower and certain moves are different but I enjoy it. I like aspects of SFV overall Aethetic, the visual affects are very good though.

Metropolis the original black & White film I watched once with my mum, we still have it on DVD, I can only watch it a few times because of all the feels.Cry

XCX's final boss wasn't so tough if you had a level 50 Skell, and your party members (I had 2) had level 30 skells. Easy peasy.

I hope One Piece reaches 1000 episodes. Shouldn't be that hard. I'm behind on watching it too, but I'm definitely up to date on the manga.

Oh I had the Skells to 50 and even some of my characters where maxed out but it kept cheating!

One Piece feels like that story of that guy that keeps pushing that rock up a mountain forever, make some progress but it doesn't really reach the top as it slides back down.

Still fun thoughLaughing

I've read some of the Swamp Thing series, but not all.  I keep on telling myself to read the rest.

When I used to listen to comic podcasts, they always raved about Swamp Thing.

Didn't know Gregory Porter has a new album. I enjoyed his first album and I look forward to picking up the new one. BvS was blah, but I do wonder if having the deleted scenes (I think Barbara Gordon is in those scenes) will make it better. I'm interested in that Batman flick you mentioned

V4Viewtiful

I heard that the extra scenes are mostly filler and extentions to scenes that need it.

The Killing Joke is going to have Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are reprising their roles from the animated series and it's rated are.

I'm weell excited Laughing

Always nice to hear from ya.

Civil War I thought was very much excellent and i'm glad they still managed to shake the status-quo and didn't play it safe in regards to the normal movie structures of past some past Marvel films. I missed BvS when it was on theaters, but now that the Director's Cut is out, I may just get a DVD copy of that. I'll keep low expectations, although I did really like Man of Steel, problems and all.

I kinda wonder if Xenoblade Chronicles X got a different PAL localization than the one of American territories, mostly because after seeing screenshots of the game I found the American localization to be shoddy at best.

Funny enough, i've been playing the PSP port of Persona 3 and been addicted to that. I would really like to play P4, but unfortunately I don't have a Vita since that one has the definitive version of the game.

V4Viewtiful

06/30/2016 at 07:44 PM

I think we did get the same localisation, with certain costtume changes, yeah, but Tokyo Mirage sessioon got the same treatment. the things we got to deal with, eh? Undecided

It's on occasion a Directors Cut can improve a film, even Daredevil -for all it's problems- was improved.

I had to stick with the Original version of P4 just due to availability and time, who knows, if P5 is a success Golden will get a wider release?
