Question #20

Hello everyone, how are you? I thought it would be the right time to revive this and a good thing too since this is the 20th post of this series, and we will be celebrating 20 years of...

              N64

The Nintendo 64. I remember this thing fondly. It was my first video game console and probably the one I had the most great memories with. I remember playing Super Mario 64 for the first time and I was blown away. It certainly was a mind-blowing revelation. The game is dated, but there was nothing quite like it back then.

But not only that, but my parents would play Mario Kart 64 and Mario Party 2 with my brother and I. It was fantastic and fun nights of gaming. My dad, who isn't too fond of games played with me from time to time on Cruisn' USA.

So, to celebrate 20 Years of the Nintendo 64, what are your favorite N64 games? What are your favorite memories of it? Thanks for reading and later.

The N64 was great, but it was also the console that caused me to get a PSOne, so it still isn't my favorite console of all time.  I was reviewing games for The Dallas Morning News during the N64's lifetime, so there were a lot of good memories associated with that.  I was also in college at the time and enjoyed playing Mario Kart 64 and Super Smash Bros. with friends.  Other games I liked included the extremely significant Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel, Kirby 64, Donkey Kong 64 (which I'm replaying right now, hasn't aged as well), Both of the N64 Zeldas, and many more!

I remember seeing Mario in 3D for the first time at a Mario64 kiosk at Target I think. Running around that castle and jumping through all those paintings was pretty awesome. I also remember Turok, Star Wars pod racing, Rogue Squadron and Star Fox with the rumble pack was quite amazing at the time. Also Ocarina of Time of course. I still remember the trailers for that game.

Where to begin. I loved the N64. Here are my favourites:

Mario 64, Mischief Makers, Turok, Banjo/Kazooie both of them, Ocarina of Time, Hexen, Doom 64, Beetle Adventure Racing, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Clay Fighter Sculptures Cut, Conker, Extreme G, Gex Enter the Gecko, Mystical Ninja....

I have such great memories of those games and probably more that I've forgotten.

Jet Force Gemini was one of my favorite N64 titles. I played the hell out of it. I also enjoyed Zelda, Kirby, and Donkey Kong. I miss those days, my sister was just as big of a gamer as I was than. Now she isn't into games as much, heck she can't practically raising her first kid. Even before she had my niece gaming had kind of died on her.

The N64 was really cool. My favorite was Hexen. It was basically Doom in a fantasy world with magic. You could also punch monsters into goo when you got these special gauntlets. Oh yea!

Others were: Diddy Kong Racing, Destruction Derby 64, Duke Nukem 64, Battle Tanx, Turok series, and Star Wars Rogue Squadron. I still want to play more N64 games and so still have my system. I have to use my old TV to use it though.

Pretty common, I know, but my favorite to this day is still Super Mario 64. Other than that, I consider my other favorites from memory to be F-Zero X and Mario Kart 64.
