Another Game Off Mount Backlog And What I'm Playing

The start of the week means I am up early and while I am adding a new album to iTunes before I get the day started I might as well catch you people up on what I have been playing the past week. But first how good was Game of Thrones last night? I’ll talk more about it on Friday and it will probably be the black bars edition so you folks who haven’t seen it won’t encounter any spoilers. Anyways I need to finish this blog entry and ripping this album so I can visit the bank, and then come home and buy a couple of games I’ve been eyeing on the Steam Summer Sale. It’ll cost around $30 or so which will wipe out my music budget for the week BUT I’m getting a couple of games I’ve wanted to play.

First I did knock out another game from Mount Backlog. I’ve been playing this game on and off for a couple of weeks now, but I finally put in the time to not only free each section of the map, I finished off the funky storyline. I finished Just Cause 3.

Easily my favorite screen shot from Just Cause 3

I didn’t really encounter any of the problems people had with the game, but I dropped the graphics down to medium to get around 60fps which was fine. The game was a lot of fun, the story was your typical good guy vs bad guy and there’s a mole in the team, etc. I thought one of the missions was pure BS but other than that the world was a nice place to roam around, find territories still under the dictator’s control and blow everything up. The nice surprise was that after finishing the game I can have the map go back under dictator controller and do it all over again. I’m going to keep this game installed on my laptop for this purpose and I might buy the previous games on Steam because they are super cheap right now. We shall see. I was hoping the DLC for the game would get a bigger discount especially when both items check in at $30 (it better have enough content for a full game).

In other games I’ve sunk some time into,

Teddy Floppy Ear: The Race – Steam

This game was part of a three pack I bought on the first day of the Steam Summer Sale for a buck. I can’t remember if it was this game or another racing game where I had to go into a file and remove the limitations on graphics (maybe another game). This game is a slower version of Mariokart but apparently the game goes from easy stroll around the track to insane racing that is tough. I figured for a buck it was worth a shot, and I finished off the first group of races (the easy section), so we shall see how difficult it gets.

Grid – Steam

Ok now I know I already have this game on the 360 but since I don’t power up my 360 as often as I should, I bought it for the laptop because I know I’ll play it more often. This is also the game where I had to go into the notepad file, and erase a line of text so I can go full 16:9 mode at my laptop’s native resolution. I have become a fan of the Grid series and each game is a lot of fun. Anyways back to this game, I just started a new career mode and I’m currently working my way up to saving enough cash to start my own team.

Burnout Paradise – Steam: I loved this game on PS3 and now I have the DLC for it as well as the full game on PC ($5) for even less than what I paid for it on PS3 ($8). The only snag I encountered was that I had no idea what my EA login was until I checked my Simpsons Tapped Out game and after that I was able to login but it seems EA took down the servers because the thinking wheel kept spinning. No worries the DLC in the game worked fine and I was able to do what I like doing in the game and that is drive around really fast and occasionally take in a race or two.

NBA 2K16 - Steam

The final game I’ve been playing for a couple of weeks now, but I finally tried out the mode in MyLeague where you can relocate a team and change everything about them. I moved the Sacramento Kings to San Diego and they became the San Diego Aztecs. Yep I created my college team in the pros.

I went with an all-black court at Viejas Arena.

Here are the road unis complete with Aztec Calendar on the back. The only change I made to the uniforms from the college version is I made the SD logo on the shorts bigger.

I also did a lot of trading the first week where I sent Rajon Rondo to the Rockets for Dwight Howard, and a PF, and I sent Demarcus Cousins to Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns, and a 1st Round Pick. I later traded Dwight to Orlando (HAHAHA) for Tim Hardaway Jr. and a 1st Round Pick. I now have three 1st Round Picks, and a bunch of expiring contracts so I will also be a big player in the free agent market on this rebuilding San Diego Aztec team. Also the team is currently at 12-0. I’m debating on simming the rest of the season so my current draft pick would be rated higher.  I do love the My2K feature where you can upload your own images, just like Teambuilder on NCAA Football. I want to create some football themed basketball teams like The Dallas Cowboys, and Oakland Raiders.

Alright Pixlbit I am off, my record finished recording on my laptop so I am going to chop up the audio file into individual tracks and then get ready to go to the bank. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

Grid's graphics look spiffy. I got it on Games with Gold a few weeks ago.

I dig the Grid games. They're well made and are a lot of fun, and heck if it was a freebie its even better.

If I can ever get off this Minecraft thing, I'm going to play a lot more of it.

That deer looks odd with being full grown and still having spots. Guess it's something different than a whitetail? Sorry that was the nature geek in me coming out.

Congrats on knocking another one off the list/pile/stack/shelf/whatever. I'm trying my best to finish more games than I buy for a while. Two down in the last couple of months, and working on a third.

It's cool, I learned something about deer.

I'm in the same boat of trying to finish what I already have. I need to get back to playing Watchdogs on PS4. The sooner I finish, the sooner that game goes on the pile that my cousins can look through and keep.
