Now that I have finished up Saints Row IV, I was expecting to jump into DOOM, but that didn't really happen. I started up the first level and made it about halfway through, but I guess I am not feeling a big budget PS4 game. So, I jumped back into Chrono Trigger on the Vita, which I had started over my vacation. Chrono Trigger is just such a fantastic game, and alonf with FF IV got me into RPGs when I was younger. We had some RPGs on the NES, but they didn't pull me in like FF IV and subsequently Chrono Trigger...
As far as a Vita wishlist, this topic really comes from the fact that I Am Setsuna released this week on PS4. It also stems from the fact that the next Square Roots Podcast series is Secret of Mana. I Am Setsuna was released for the Vita in Japan, but there are no plans to release it over here in North America. To me, a big fan of the Vita, this sucks. I have heard that the game isn't best on Vita, but that doesn't matter to me. Chrono Trigger on Vita has some awful load times, but I don't really care. Turn-based RPGs are best on handhelds in my opinion. As far as Secret of Mana, I would love to have a portable version of that game. I am wishing that Square would have ported it to the PSOne back when they ported FF IV-VI and Chrono Trigger. If they did that, I would most likely have a way to play Secret of Mana on Vita, which would probably be the best place to play it... ever.
So, at this moment, I Am Setsuna and Secret of Mana are at the top of my wishlist of games that I want on Vita. The list does not end there though, because I love my Vita I want everything on Vita. I know that there is no guarantee that any of these next games would be able to run on Vita, but I would love to see them if they could. I think that Shadow Complex would be a perfect fit for Vita. Housemarque made a game called Outland a while back and probably should be on Vita, since all their other games are on Vita.
Now that I am actually trying to think about it, I am having issues thinking of games that I would want on Vita... The handheld Castlevanias would be awesome, but that is probably the biggest pipedream in the world. Until next time...
