Well....

that blog got deleted when I hit "live," then "post." Ok then then...

Basically, it was just some non-gaming things I found spring cleaning, a recap of my day, and some games I played, so no huge loss, but was not expecting that.

Oh well, it's Tuesday, and aside from homelessrook's Punk Tuesday, which I enjoy, what does Tuesday even have going for it? I mean Wednesday's hump day, Thursday is where the weekend starts gearing up, Friday is TGIF, Saturday is also a weekend day, Sunday is a day of relaxation/work, Monday is the start of the work week and everyone hates it, but Tuesday?

Oh well, I'm tired.

If you worked in the entertainment industry like me, Tuesday would be your Sunday. Smile

I actually do work in the entertainment industry as a Production Assistant. Tuesday is still meaningless to me where I work. lol

Fair. In theatre, Monday is actor's equity day off, and Tuesday is my mandatory show off day. Smile

Ah, I see. I had a class with a lot of theater students my senior year of college. Cool people. Smile

It seems like a lot of people on here have been having that problem with the blogs lately.  I use Firefox, haven't been logged out from the site once (not that I can recall at least), and haven't had a blog just disappear.  What gives, I wonder?

Have you considered typing up posts in Microsoft Word and exporting them over?  I did that with one or two of my 1Up blog entries and it worked alright.

I've always considered that, it's just really inconvenient on my old computers that take forever to boot up Word.

I also use Firefox; not sure what's up.

Wordpad is pretty much the same thing without all the bells and whistles. Loads up faster for me, too.

Yeah, I know. I have Notepad on this laptop as well, I just prefer typing a blog in the same space it'll be uploaded. Oh well, this was a pretty rare occurence, and now I have Word open anyway.

After years of losing blogs on 1up I always type mine in word.  But you could use notepad too, or some kind of cheap text editor instead.

I guess since I have Word open from working on my resume, I'll just leave it open, so it doesn't take so ungodly long to boot up. I lost a lot of 1up blogs, too.

Yup, which is why I refuse to close this Word doc I had open with the resume I was tweaking today. Blogging in there from now on. lol

I once kept hitting post, not realizing it was set to Draft... and that was after i had re-written the blog!

I think I actually got a bunch of messages that you posted a new blog when that happened... they all had the same title. lol

I have gotten into the habit of highlighting and copying anything I type cause that has happend to me on 1up and here. Bad enough on a comment, but when a whole freakin blog gets blitzed, that gets me ten kinds of pissed. But for blogs I also prefer word, mostly so I can take advantage of spell check.

Tuesday is named after a Norse God, can't remember which one though, suppose that kills my point. So yeah Tuesday is kind of worthless.

I usually do the highlight and copy thing myself, but not this time.

As for the Norse god, Wiki says it's Tyr, god of single combat; has something to do with Mars. Also, I guess there's Ruby Tuesday, but I've never eaten there.

I haven't written all that many blogs here on PixlBit, but the blog posting page seems pretty similar to the article posting page, though it isn't exactly the same, don't get me wrong. I've not once had something disappear on me. I wish we knew the problem so Nick could resolve it! I really feel bad whenever someone's hard work just disappears.

It wasn't hard work, it was just a "here's what I've been up to" type blog, and it's probably on my end, don't feel bad you guys.

Well the thing tuesday had going for it, for me was that it was my bday. It was pretty good overall. Gonna post a blog on that tomorrow.

Ah, well happy belated birthday, as I'll likely say on your blog!

That has happen to me once as well, was about half way done..then somebody got on my computer and closed out the browser..and then when  i opened it up it  was gone i was like what the!! I figured since it auto-saves that it should have some of it saved but nope.  But that has happend to me just once thou

Yeah, I usually try copying the text then posting a draft if I know I'll get off, seems to work.

I have no idea how this is happening for you guys. I've done a bunch of testing on my end and the drafts are being incrementally saved as expected. I've tried closing my browser in a given time frame and doing a few other things and it's just not happening.

I can't seem to reproduce the Live and Post issue either. If you can give me some more specifics (if you remember them) on how it happened, starting with clicking the link to "Post a Blog," I might be able to figure out how to test that exact case and fix it accordingly.

Sorry that this has happened to a few of you. I thought I had this problem ironed out with the auto-save ability.

You probably have fixed it for most, I'll give you all the specs I can remember, and it might just be on my end,

- I almost always hit post draft before I ever put a blog to live, so that's the main difference I notice between most blogs I post and this one, so there's that, as for any other details:

- Typed and tried to post this particular blog on a Dell Optiplex DX260 tower running XP; I hear XP is no longer supported, or won't be soon, so I wonder if whatever you're using to back up blogs just isn't communicating properly with the OS, or Mozilla Firefox, which is the browser I always use, both on that PC and my Dell D620 laptop also running XP, which I'm on now (I have to tell this thing to use Flash always for every website I go to, cause my version is out of date, but if I upgrade, I get sound with no picture)

- It had one picture sent from from my phone to my e-mail, then copy pasted here that had sort of half-sent (half the image was there, other half was grey nothing when I received it in my AOL); a signed Blue Man Group Playbill, next to a Fenway Park tour ticket were first two images; then paragraph text, then side by side DK64/1080 Snowboarding box images from Google Images, then paragraph, then 1080 screenshots, then paragraph, then F-Zero GX screenshot and F-Zero AX arcade machine pic, also Google Images, where I usually use Bing, then another bit of text, and I think that was it. All images were copy/pasted, did not have image location copied; no idea if that makes a difference, my copy/pasted images still seem to be up in a previous blog, but it's unusual for me to just copy/paste ... why, I don't know.

That's really all I can remember. Either way, it was a short blog, and I imagine any blog site can have this hiccup from time to time, might be something I did I'm forgetting, and you guys are doing a lot better for me than 1up ever did, so don't feel down. Smile

Edit: The blog actually posted with my title, but all of the content was gone. I deleted it, as I was taken to the place to comment on the blog, so I figured it was done for. Maybe I should have said "edit the blog" before being so rash, I dunno.

That frustration is the reason I keep my blogs fairly short. I've had that happen a few times. One day it happened twice! I do it on my work laptop in the morning or at lunch. Or on our desktop. Have no luck trying to do blogs with mt iPad.

Super Step Contributing Writer

I don't like iPad's touch screen for blogs anyway. Takes so long for me to type anything.

Tuesday is Toonie Tuesday at KFC (actually "Tuesday Special" now that they've jacked up the prices). So yeah, Tuesday is the worst day of the week!

Did not know that. I remember when I worked at Boston Market, Sunday was our busiest, and therefore my worst, day of the week. I feel you.
