Good afternoon Pixlpeeps! I’ve been lacking this week when it comes to my usual posts, and replies here and I almost thought about skipping this edition of Quick Hits but I’m taking a break from playing some NBA 2K16 (my team is in the Western Conference Finals) and at some point I’m going to eat some lunch. So in the meantime why not update you good people on what’s been going on.

Chris Goes To The ER

So on Wednesday I had a little trip to the ER via an Ambulance. I’m good now, just a little sore but that was an interesting trip. I would have taken pictures but I was too busy being all sick. Things I’ve noticed is that the hospital has disposable items like the arm wrap for blood pressure, and pulse along with other fun stuff. During my three hour stay (a three hour stay *plays Giligan’s Island). I got to watch the RNC (sorry political fans I don’t care for the RNC or DNC conventions because they’re just pep rallies) After my stay I got to go home and I spent a lot of time sleeping. I’m pretty much good now so thanks good people of the ER!

Chris Watches…

The RNC – NBC: The only reason why I watched the first couple of minutes is because of Ivanka Trump. After that I switched over to Nova where they found a German U-Boat.

Big Brother – CBS: This season has had its moments but overall there really hasn’t been much to get excited about. I’ve flipped flopped over Da’vonne. At the start of the season I didn’t care for her, then I dug what she was doing, and now I’m back to not liking her. Her goodbye message was petty especially after she talked about how she wanted to be a positive role model to her daughter. I’ve also jumped on the Michelle Bandwagon

She’s rarely on camera, and I’ve been telling my friend that they should give her the 90s teen drama storyline where they play Sixpence None The Richer’s Kiss Me while giving her a makeover like the one on She’s All That.

WWE Draft – USA: I don’t get what the WWE is trying to do. They turned fan favorite AJ Styles heel, teamed him with the Club, only to separate them. Instead of building up Sasha Banks and Charlotte separately they placed them both on Raw, the filled the Raw brand with more talent, and they pulled a ton of top tier talent from NXT. They basically hurt the Smackdown, and NXT brands just to fill Raw, which most likely will still be stale and the endless feuding between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Hopefully something good comes out of this but so far it’s not looking too good.

Jurassic World – HBO: Ok I have so many questions about this movie. First off why didn’t they have dinosaur lowjack or something similar to what they had on Kingsman where their heads explode? Also what kind of killing machine was Killasaurus Rex if he could be taken out by T-Rex and three Raptors? My favorite is the “hey let’s go hunt Killasaurus, let’s bring the kids” Other than that, I enjoyed this flick.

Chris Listens To…

I think I mentioned this, but if not I’ll do it again. I’m taking a break from ripping my records. I figure this month is a good time to do so. I can catch up on listening to my current library, and eventually I’ll get back to it once the month is over and hopefully by then I will have my unlistened to list within five digits. Speaking of my unlistened to tracks last week I was at 10,711 and this week I am at

It doesn’t seem like I didn’t make much progress but I did.

Chris Takes Pictures…

Earlier in the week (the same day I went to the ER) I was going to the mail box and this guy was roaming around the yard and neighbor’s yard. It was like a mini Jurassic World

This is the local neighbor bird that roams around, doesn’t care about humans, and seems to like the heat. Thanks for looking at my pictures!

Pickups

Games

From Goodwill there were a bunch of games but I settled on this game for $3 (hot damn I didn’t realize the picture was blurry. Sorry)

I have this game on PS3 and Wii. This game also comes with a DVD that I will probably not watch.

From Newegg for $9.00 I bought this three-pack

Yup I finally picked up Bioshock, Bioshock II, and Bioshock Infinite.

This was a freebie from Windows

I’ll play this first episode and if I like it I’ll buy the season.

Music

From Goodwill I bought these three CDs

Only reason I bought Flashdance was because it was .99 cents. Steve Miller Band saves me from ripping the vinyl copy I bought from Target awhile back.

My other CD from Goodwill that was .99 cents. I bought it for the song I’m Not In Love.

From the mom and pop music store I bought

90s Foo Fighters and The Cure. Both albums have songs that remind me of High School and will go in my High School Playlist.

90s Brownstone

A Toni Braxton Greatest Hits album that fills some holes, as well as Blaque. They had one hit with N’Sync that was pretty good.

Two more albums with a couple of songs I liked. I think I’m slowly building up a Heart Discography.

This album I paid $12 for but it was one I’ve been watching for a couple of weeks

It has a bunch of live versions along with alternate versions of songs.

The last CD I bought was due to roaming around YouTube and finding a band from Canada that I wanted to check out

It was $10 on iTunes OR spend an additional $4 and get the CD from Amazon and get the mp3s from their instant download. I went with the physical because at some point I will rip my albums to FLAC. I’ve been listening to this album on Amazon Music for a week before I bought the CD.

My final pickup is a headband cover for my V-Moda Crossfade LP’s. After a couple of years the headband’s fake leather is peeling so I bought this shroud on Amazon. It has padding so it makes the headband look bulky but it’s comfortable and I can still use my headphones without causing more damage. It’s a snug fit in the V-Moda carry case but it fits so I’m happy.

Alright Pixlpeeps, I am ready to play more NBA 2K16 so have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

For my song of the week why not go with the song I mentioned in my hopes for a She’s All That storyline on Big Brother

Pep. Rallies.  Suck.

That Go-Go's CD looks awesome, man!

How did you end up in the ER?  Pokemon Go?  :p

Yes they do. The one positive is that instead of watching my normal block of shows I'm discovering new stuff that plays in the same time slot.

Nope no Pokemon Go in this house. The only Pokemon I play are the ones on my 3DS XL. Thinking about it I wonder how many Pokemon are available at the local hospital.

I almost went to the ER Saturday night. I had really bad stomach pain. I think it was some jalapanos I ate. Funny 'cause they usually don't bother me.

I've been gathering lots of music lately. I'm on a sixties kick but had to narrow my list down to a tiny subgenre to make it manageable, progressive rock. Not a lot with that tag in the 60s but enough for shuffle mode on my ipod.

Its odd that the things that we are used to can sometimes bite us in the behind. I do miss nuts and seeds.

Awesome! I'm trying to slowly go after stuff from the 80s and 90s. I really need to break down my genre listings in iTunes to make it more manageable too. Rock and Pop are just massive playlists.

Tryng to ID your bird. I think it's a great egret, but I need to know what color its legs and feet are.

Here is my bird neighbor walking around my neighbor's walkway. He lost interest of the guy taking pictures of him Tongue Out

Your neighbor is indeed a great egret, not to be confused with a great regret Wink.

Alright my bird neighbor has a name. I shall call it Ygritte the Egret after the character from Game of Thrones.
