The Walking Dead games are a little too gross for me. I'm glad that Walking Dead has been a success for TellTale, but I miss their more whimsical adventures,, like Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit, Monkey Island, etc. I'm glad that Sam & GlaDOS are going to be in Poker Night 2, though.
TWD & GoT Shows Vs. Games

Last Sunday, I watched the season 3 finale of The Walking Dead. It was also the season 3 premier of Game of Thrones. I didn't watch that one until yesterday on Xfinity. Since those are my two favorite shows on right now, I figured that I would do a opinion piece on what I think of them. Not only that, but I also wanted to say how I liked the game versions released in 2012.
This past season of TWD has been pretty decent, in my opinion. Without giving away spoilers, it mainly involved the cast finding the prison and trying to rebuild their lives. The other half of the show involved a town called Woodbury, and how the Governor dealt with the group living at the prison practically in their back yard. Overall, there were ups and downs with the season. It was about half and half as far as what I liked and didn't like about it. I really disliked Andrea as a character. She just made too many mistakes with her decisions. On the bright side, I liked the new characters. Overall, I thought that the second season was better, but I think that season 4 will be worth watching. I also hate how the show is split up into 2 halves six months apart. Still, I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5.
The Walking Dead game by Telltale games, on the other hand, is a great experience. You play as Lee as the zombie apocalypse happens. Along the way, he finds other survivors and tries to make it. It's an adventure game which is more cerebral than the show, and hits home more what of it would be like to survive the downfall of civilization. I really liked how the choices you make influence how the story pans out. Different characters make it with you, depending on what you do and don't do in the game. On the down side, it seems to lose some direction halfway through. That's actually where I broke with the game. Although, I am told the ending will tug on your heartstrings and depress the hell out of you lol. But what I did play so far was great, and definitely deserved the praise it got.

Game of Thrones last season was a pretty good watch. Even though it lacked the compact narrative of season 1. But wait, I'm talking about this season, right? Well, since only the first episode has aired so far, I'll give my impression of that. GoT is an epic fantasy show that is airing on HBO, for those of you who don't know. In the medieval kingdom of Westeros, a war is being fought between the royalty of the different houses that make up the country. It also focuses on the splintered family of House Stark, specifically the children of the deceased lord. With that said, there are just too many damn characters on the show now. I got lost on remembering who all these people were, even though I had seen the second season not too long ago. I've seen the same thing happen in other stories, too: there get to be so many characters that all of the subplot lines become filler, and it loses its direction. Though I did enjoy the narratives of the characters I did remember. It's a great show, even though there aren't any other races depicted other than humans. 4 out of 5 for me, due to the size of it becoming cumbersome.
The GoT game is an average action RPG for me. It plays a lot like Dragon Age Origins, only not as good. You go through the game playing 2 different characters, Mors and Alester. I actually only played the first chapter, so I really don't want to give this one a score either. What I liked about it is customizing the characters with traits. For every good bonus you took, you had to take an equally bad character flaw to balance things out. What I didn't like about it was the fact that the combat system is pretty boring, and done much better in DAO. Although I am told that the plot was pretty good.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure there are some more females on that show besides these ones. lol
