Good morning Pixlpeeps! Today I thought I would do a combo blog of sorts seeing how I skipped Quick Hits last week, and I didn’t play much this week. Sound good? Cool let’s get started because it is hot and sticky here in Southern California and I need to run some errands before it gets really bad, and I don’t want to be outside when it does.
The Quick Hits Portion!
Chris Watches
USWNT vs. Sweden: And the US Women’s run is over. It sucks but it was a heck of a ride. Anyways the big story is Hope Solo. Most think she’s a little salty, which is true, but I also believe she went off to move the focus away from her teammates that missed the penalty kicks. She’s the villain everyone loves to hate so why not add more to it. I’m still on the Hope Solo bandwagon.
Preseason Football: I am happy Football is back! The Cowboys third team lost to the Rams third team but how about the debut of Dak Prescott. He played well and lit up the Rams starters. I give Rams fans a lot of grief but I am happy that LA finally has a team. I will probably end up casually following them because I’m not a fan of the Chargers, and I like that the Rams are moving away from the St. Louis Navy and Vegas gold, back to old school Rams Blue and White.

My iPod Touch is showing its age. The top two rows where the clock, battery, and WiFi icons are has a ton of dead pixels. I don’t know when this happened but it did.
Last time I updated my unlistened to track count I was at 9932. At this point I am at
Not a big improvement but here is my excuse: I’m currently assembling my “Ultimate Playlist” All the songs I have rated 4 and 5 stars are being looked over and I am pulling out the songs I absolutely love. Currently I have around eight thousand 4 and 5 star songs. In my Ultimate Playlist I will not include Classical or Marching Band stuff because those will be in their own separate playlists. So my current pool is around seven thousand songs and I have gone through 1,400 of them, and as it stands 700 songs are currently in the Ultimate Playlist. My goal is to have this playlist done and it should hopefully fit on my phone and iPod Touch. I also want a playlist that I can listen to without skipping tracks.
Pickups
Music
From the Mom and Pop store
I finished off the Guns N’ Roses studio albums discography. I think the only album I need now is some live album. This is from Wikipedia.
I’m missing I think three albums from Norah Jones studio album discography. I like her voice.
The Classic R&B grooves has a bunch of singles from the 90s that I don’t have in my library. Leona Lewis is another artist whose voice is awesome. My CD list said I didn’t own this album but yet it was in my iTunes library. I need to search out to see if I actually own a physical copy of this CD.
Two rap albums added to the collection.
From Barnes & Noble I bought this for $8
Another Astrud album!
On Slickdeals I saw that they Amazon had a sale on battery packs and I needed a bigger one for a trip so for $18 I bought it.
Here’s the big ol’ box it came in
And this is the actual product. The box was 70% full of padding. The battery pack is fine but damn that is a lot of box!
Regular Monday Blog Time
I didn’t play much, and I have to be honest I haven’t powered up any consoles for a couple of weeks now. I did however knock two games off Mount Backlog
Batman Arkham City – Steam:
This was such a fun game except I thought the ending was a bit of a letdown. The buildup in storyline along with the improvements in gameplay from the first game but I wasn’t a fan of the ending. I did like being able to play as Batman and then shifting over to Catwoman. The game ran fine on my laptop and I am currently keeping it on the hard drive because just like Arkham Asylum I am going to go back and find all the hidden goodies.
Table Top Racing: World Tour – Steam:
This was a fun racing game. This Mariokart like game played well, had a bunch of options for customization, and the controls felt good. I finished racing through all the main tracks and earning all three stars with the exception for maybe two or three in the last group of races. I’m currently working through the bonus stuff trying to pickup those stars and trying to earn the remaining three stars in the main mode, and collect the hidden coins in each level. The one thing I had trouble with at first was the drifting until I realized I could go back and use the easier cars to drift on the harder tracks. This made collecting the three stars much simpler.
I’m currently playing NBA 2K16 MJ Edition and my team is almost at the All Star Break. Also I started on the next Batman Game
Batman Origins – Steam
Looking back I should have started with this game (because the Origins name didn’t click right away with me). The game feels different and I am having much more fun just landing in a group of bad guys and beating them up, than playing through the story mode. As for the story mode I might be close to the end because the events I’ve encountered seems like it’s time for the big conclusion. I am getting better at the combat instead of being Button Masher Chris, I’ve moved up to Button Masher with the occasional legit combo Chris.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Time to get the day going. Have a good week!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
