Games Beaten

-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Picross (3DS)

This was a great picross experience. There are quite a few puzzles and three different rules of play. There are enough options to make the puzzles as easy or difficult as you want. The Zelda theme is great. My only complaint is that the normal picross puzzles are recycled for Mega Picross. But overall it's a great little puzzle game.

Games Bought

My first game purchase came in the middle of August. Song of the Deep (PS4) is Insomniac's new Metroidvania and it's pretty good! We found Hyrule Warriors (Wii U) on clearance and while it wasn't a fantastic price, it was better than anything the internet was offering. My wife picked up Republique (PS4) because it was cheap and had good reviews. I think she'll like it. I might even play it! The most exciting purchase was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PS4). Unfortunately, I havent' been able to play it nearly as much as I'd like (hoping to spend a good chunk of time tonight on it).

PS+ had some interesting games, like Ultratron (PS4/PS3/Vita), which seems to be a spiritual successor to the old Robotron arcade game. Rebel Galaxy (PS4) intrigues me but will I ever have time to try it? I'm glad to have Yakuza 5 (PS3) but it is likely suffer the same fate as Rebel Galaxy. The month was rounded out by Patapon 3 (PSP/Vita) and Tricky Towers (PS4), some sort of Tetris-inspired thingamahoozit.

Now Playing

-Song of the Deep (PS4)

Over six hours in and I've really enjoyed this game so far. I don't think there is too much more to do.

-Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (PS4)

Can't wait to spend more time with this. Love what I've played so far.

-Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition (PS4)

Slayed Diablo and just started the actual Reaper bits.

-Freedom Wars (Vita)

If I can just get three more trophies, I'll get my second Platinum trophy!

Man I want to get back and play all the Patapon games sometime. Also, Diablo III. Need to go back to that for real. It's kind of far down my backlog list at the moment though.

My plan for playing backlog games has been so out of whack lately. But I'm finally getting back to playing things after moving and the new baby pulled me away. I don't think Diablo III will last much longer though. We usually play that just once a week but we always make a lot of progress.

I totally want to play Song of the Deep!

Rebel Galaxy is cool. I started playing it but haven't had time. Cel-shaded PS2 games don't age, it's still lovely to look at. I played it remotely on Vita and it looked great.

I was going to put off getting Song of the Deep but I wanted to support that it exists—a 2D Metroidvania by a triple-A developer getting a physical release? Yes, please!—and it was only $15. It's a charming little game which I would definitely recommend. I bet you'd love the soundtrack too. It's super chill.

Remote play! I always forget about that. And when I do remember, I worry about how many L and R buttons the game will use lol. I might try that with Rebel Galaxy.
