So I finally forced myself to finish the game. The main story anyway, I have yet to do the little side story. When I previously played it on PS3 I never made it out of Summer. I finished it on Normal which wasn't difficult. It had a few moments that I had to restart or retry but passed that it was a pretty nice challenge. I think the 2 hardest spots for me were the final encounter spot at the end and the part you played as Ellie during Winter. Which speaking of was one of the most fucked up parts of the game. I won't go into details but damn!

Overall it was a good emotional rollercoaster of a game and I might just go back through it at some point. I also might do the side story soon.

I'd like to play this game, but it's been so hyped I have to wait for it to die down with me.

I really hope you get to play it on down the road. It's worth one playthrough for sure.

I love the game but I have my issues. Firstly, I don't feel the tale really lends itself to a traditional video game difficulty curve. I think the ending lost a lot of impact due to the massive difficulty spike that came before it, where rather than appreciating what I consider a truly brilliant ending, I was instead just focusing on how glad I was that the shitty section I just slogged through was over.

That said, this is a game that has constantly stuck with me, and I need to play it again sometime soon.

I agree about the difficulty spike. They made it ridiculous hard during the final part. My sister beat it on hard and I can't help but wonder how the hell she pulled that shit off at the end. I might play it again on down the road. Maybe try hard difficulty.

Wasn't much a fan of this game from either a mechanical standpoint or a narrative. Didn't get the emotional impact out of the story that everyone else seems to have. Dad acts like Dad... news at 11.

I think because you see what Joel lost at the start and what he gains toward the end just hits an emotional point with people.
