Hello everyone, how are you?
Today is the 20th anniversary of the Nintendo 64. I remember getting one for xmas many years ago with a copy of Super Mario 64 and Cruisn' USA. Really fun times. And instead of listing my favorite games, I wanna hear your guys favorite games. So, what are your favorite N64 games? Did you have fun with the system? What are your favorite memories with it? The N64 came out when I was in college and I just started reviewing games for The Dallas Morning News a few months before its release. So I played and reviewed a lot of games on it. While I ended up liking the PSOne more, the N64 had a lot of fun and memorable games. Some of my favorites off the top of my head include:
Super Mario 64
Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie
Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
Mario Kart 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Kirby 64
Super Smash Bros.
Paper Mario
Tetrisphere
My favorite N64 game is either Ocarina or Majora's Mask. Not that big on the system or this gen overall because a lot of games have aged very poorly, but the Zelda games were so far ahead that even though they aged so much they're still great. Also enjoyed the Banjo games, Star Fox 64, and Paper Mario.
I was big on the N64 as a kid but the only game I still play on a fairly regular basis is Mario Kart 64. Other than that I also loved the Zeldas, BattleTanx, Pilot Wings 64, Body Harvest, Starfox, and some of the wrestling games that came out for it for WCW and WWF
Hexen, Duke Nukem 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Destruction Derby 64, Clayfighters 63 1/3, BattleTanx, Ocarina of TIme. I'm about to play the Banjo games soon via Rare Replay. I can't wait to dive into those.
Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Super Mario 64. SM64 holds up the best for me because I felt like the Gamecube Zeldas blew the N64 Zeldas out of the water. Other favorites include Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, Ogre Battle 64, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, Perfect Dark, Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, It had some good games and SM64 was groundbreaking, but it's my least favorite Nintendo console (aside from Virtual Boy of course).
