I've never played a Dead Rising game. I feel it would be more like my brother's kind of thing. He likes smashing zombies.

TV SO GOOD!:D
This month we’re getting the return of Supergirl/Superman, Flash, Arrow, and Luke Cage on Netflix. Also Walking Dead I think? I’ve been watching Once Upon A Time from the beginning so I’m still sticking with it and this time we have Aladdin joining the cast. Cool! But these are the actual shows that I’ve recently seen as well as starting Mr. Robot.
American Horror Story
The last season of AMS was the first one I ever watched. I have no idea what I missed the first few seasons, but what I understand is that they each have different themes, and more of an anthology. The last season took place in a haunted hotel in downtown Los Angeles that mixed vampires with Hollywood glam. Of course a lot of the guests that checked-in almost certainly died horribly and then left to wander around the hotel as ghosts in limbo.
The new season takes place in a haunted mansion in the middle of the woods. An interracial couple buys a spooky house and some racists hillbillies try to scare them out of it. It’s pretty interesting. There’s a weird cult thing going on in the woods, very Resident Evil 4, or Silent Hill, which of course grabbed my interest. The first episode is told through re-enactment documentary style footage, having different actors narrate the story while other actors re-enact the actual events. It’s very Scooby-doo but with racists.
The Exorcist
I’m weary of attempts to successfully translate media from one form to another. I think Stranger Things did a fine job of wedging itself into a genre and era by creating something that could have existed in the era it takes its influences from, like a Tarantino movie and Martial Arts, Westerns and Blaxploitation films. I doubt that The Exorcist on TV can possibly even touch the cultural influence of the original film, but as a Catholic themed TV show, it isn’t that bad. It seems to focus on one family who believe their daughter to be possessed by a demon and the relationship with a local priest who seems to be losing faith. Overall, I thought the first episode was interesting and creepy enough that I’ll be tuning in to see if it gets better. I think Outcast was a good show with a similar theme, but mostly because a lot of the people were fucked up on it as well as Preacher.
Dead Rising 2
I missed this game series when it first came out, but jumped in with the HD remake and found it more interesting that actually fun, but interesting enough to keep playing. There are enough survival elements to make the game challenging and I think the story is interesting enough to get through to the end, although it is quite repetitive and clunky. It’s a bit dated with mechanics, but the overall idea is quite fun. Time limits are a little annoying, but actually create tension that other survival horror/action games create with limited inventory and combat abilities. It’s a trade-off that I thing works here. Not sure pure open world with no time restrictions would make it interesting though. I don’t know what the consensus is on this.
