Now Playing:  Bioshock Infinite, Sly 4, Atelier Ayesha

I’m about 3/4’s of the way through Bioshock Infinite, by my reckoning.  I have some critique for the game, but I’ll save them for when I’m actually done with it.  I won’t be back on here to post until I complete it, hopefully these weekend.

On a different note, I put Ayesha aside to get through Bioshock.  While I’ve been playing it the next title has been announced as Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Twillight Sky.  WOO.  It looks like quite a departure from the rest of the PS3 iterations of the series, going to a duel protagonist system like Mana Khemia 2, which I skipped back in the day.

Since I don’t have much else to talk about at the moment, I’m just gonna toss a bunch of recent manga reviews I wrote here:

Soul Eater Vol. #13 Manga Review

Story Of Saiunkoku Vol. #09 Manga Review

Pandora Hearts Vol. #14 Manga Review

The Dark Hunters: Infinity Vol. #01 Manga Review

Attack On Titan Vol. #04 Manga Review

And a novel review:  The Wind Whales Of Ishmael Novel Review

Finish it. It's fantastic. Let us all know what you think. I've spoken to many people and the number of opinions seems to be, well, infinite, and I'm interested in hearing what all people have to say about, not just the ending, but the game as a whole as well.

I'm amazed they keep making these Alchemist games. They must be successful.  But I'm not really into the item management and alchemy stuff.  I wish someone would make a JRPG series that caters to my niche audience.

Dude, I gotta know what your niche is now.....

turn based battles, pre-rendered backgrounds, obscure quests, hyper-spiritual philosophical themes, animalistic characters -- the list goes on.

Sooo.... Torment: Numenera once it comes out?  (I can't remember if that's gonna be turn based though....)

Torment will be fun but I don't know what the combat will be like.  Basically PSONE era JRPG's -- that's my golden age.  New games like Chaos Rings 2 kind of uphold the style. I love pre-rendered backgrounds and convoluted spiritual storylines though!

Hopefully Tecmo Koei will handle the next Atelier release better than they did with Ayesha. That's a shame. Ayesha is a good game, it didn't deserve the neglect TK America gave it compared to the good support TK Europe offered. It sometimes seems like the US is being isolated from the rest of the gaming world.

Seriously, I don't know why they bothered taking the license away from NISA when they still had NISA localize it for them.  Do they really make more money from tossing it out there to die rather than licensing it and letting NISA market it properly?  Some interviewer needs to tell GUST how TK treats their games overseas.

Escha + Logy looks good. Will likely get it, despite the fact I passed on Ayesha. Mhm.

As soon as I can nail down a new job, I'm getting Bioshock Infinite.

Wish I had time to get to either Infinite or Ayesha, let alone both. Let us know how you like teh latter, so I know whether or not to get it for later.
