I was playing Dead Rising 2 HD on PS4 and one thing that kind of annoyed me was the soundtrack. I feel like a soundtrack similar in energy to Crazy Taxi would be more appropriate instead of the boring lounge music. Sure, lounge music seems appropriate for the setting, but setting up Spotify app thru PS4, which allows me to stream music while playing a game is just fantastic! Listening to Radiohead while killing zombies makes the whole thing more depressing, or maybe some hiphop beats or jpop tracks to freshen up the grindiness. Now if only I can figure out how to stream a podcast or audiobook on PS4 as well.
I don't think PS4 does that, but don't quote me. NOthing like Radiohead and JRPG's. :p
I used to make custom soundtracks on the original Xbox. That was a shitload of fun for TOny Hawk, Racing games, and freakin madden. When I scored a touch down, it would play Nine Inch Nails.
The only problem with Spotify on PS4 is how playlists work. It only plays the first 20 songs in a playlist unless you scroll to the end of said playlist, which is a hassel when some playlists have 1000+ songs.
I've been turning off the music in a lot of games lately - XCOM 2, Super Mega Baseball for instance. It really annoys me after a while. That being said, XBO is adding more music apps and I hope they add Last.FM because I use that site to track all my iPod listening habits. Would be cool to sync it up to XBO.
