Good morning Pixlpeeps! The weekend was fun but it is time to get back to the week and get stuff done! The windows are open, the cool breeze is flowing and yes I am one day closer to removing the music off of my phone and replacing it with Christmas music. Yes I know its only October but hey I do like Christmas music so the moment the last kid shows up at my door saying “Trick or Treat” (they usually just stand there with a bag open and look at you) I'm going full Christmas music mode. Sorry Turkey Day, but I'm skipping right over you. When I am not plotting to do a music swap on my phone I am finishing one game and taking it off Mount Backlog

The Division – PC (Uplay)

Forty two hours of roaming around an abandoned New York City, and two installs later I finished The Division. I finished off the remaining missions last week and the final mission was a weekend project. After tackling the final mission the first time I realized that I need to rethink my strategy and upgrade weapons. By strategy I mean how can I play through this game in a cheesy way and exploiting portions of the map where the enemy can't shoot, is close to a refill of ammo, and is out of harm's way. Thanks Ubisoft for not fully testing your map.

There were a couple of portions at the final mission where I found these spots. Spots where I had a clear shot at the enemy, figured out the timing, and was able to meet my objective. The first time I tackled the last mission I went away from this winning formula and tried to play it like a straight up shooter but kept getting overwhelmed by the numbers against me. This time when the numbers were greater I forced them into areas where there was a doorway so only one soldier at a time could enter and proceeded to take them down (thanks 300!)

For the most part the game was fun. Roam around collecting cell phones for snippets of what the people were going through prior to the city being abandoned, collecting items to craft better weapons, collecting data from downed drones, encountering hostile gangs, and completing various main and side missions. This game is all about grinding, upgrading your weapons, and occasionally giving back to the handful of survivors in the city. After finishing the final mission I was prompted to continue the grinding for even better weapons but I finished the storyline, 90% of the side missions and encounters and there was no real reason to go about collecting all the little items. I didn't care for the multiplayer Dark Zone where I know my character is at a disadvantage against all the higher rated players so I saved the 50 GB or so and just removed the game from my laptop. I now have space for another game I need to tackle.

Overall I enjoyed The Division. There were times I thought the game was cheesy by having enemies have either too much armor, or become bullet sponges, but after constantly upgrading and modding equipment I found the game to be enjoyable. I don't think I'll ever install it again or play it on a console but the time I did spend with it, I enjoyed it and feel that I got the most bang for my buck.

In other games I'm playing

Grand Theft Auto V – PC: Still going through single player missions and I still can't access my add-on cars. Also normal cars I do have I can't add into the add-on garages. I can still purchase the garages but I seem to be kicked out when I try to add cars.

I'm going to get back into Sleeping Dogs this week because I really need to actually finish that game.

Alright Pixlbit I am off. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

Yes, finish Sleeping Dogs! If I could do it, you can do it! And here is a pic of sleeping Beau for incentive.

Beau knows how to be comfortable when sleeping! Yeah I'll get back to Sleeping Dogs, I'm getting to the point where I stopped playing the last time so it'll be a new game to me. I wonder if there are mods for the game...

Gamestop was trying to sell me a two fer deal with The Division and some other game I forget. I said if I could get two copies of The Division instead, I might think about it, but the deal wouldn't allow it.

The Division feels like it would be a lot more fun with other people, especially with some of the tougher enemies. Shame they didn't allow you to get two of the same game.

I need to pick The Division up off my shelf again too. It certainly is a lot more fun with friends, I tried playing it by myself and it was a lot harder to complete

Yeah some missions are a pain if you're playing solo. What made it easier was to have a character's level be one or two levels higher than the mission's minimum level.
