Over here it started to rain yesterday, and will continue on through the week... not much of a fan of rain.
I was as suprised as you with how successful Shovel Knight has become. I'm so happy about it.

It feels as though it has been raining nonstop for the past 3 days up here in milwaukee. I go to work, it is raining. I leave work, it is raining. From what I can tell, it is supposed to continue raining.
I am in the final stretch of MGS2. I should be finishing it up over the next day or so. ThIs has become possible only by the ability to skip the cutscenes. I am currently not in the mood to spend half of the game watching them. I shudder to think how long I would have spent with the game had I not skipped them, my current save file reads at just over 7 hours. The gameplay is solid, but I am having a feeling of deja vu. It seems as though much of the game mirrors the first MGS. Almost as if they just put a new coat of paint on MGS and gave it a new story to hide the fact that you are playing a very similar game. Do not get me wrong, the game is fantastic. I am starting to wonder if this is why MGS3 is my favourite of the series.
On a side note. Shovel Knight has surprised me. It is nearly to the $200k mark and therefore 4-player battle mode. I was not expecting to get that high. The campaign hit the 100k mark 2/3rds of the way through. In barely a week it has jumped $90k, it took 2 weeks to make $75k.
And so my mind begins to fill with fog and I loose my train of thought.
We've had 5 significant snowstorms in Ottawa in April the last 20 years. It happens every few years, sometimes consecutively. The Weather Network now says 15 cm and it will be mixed with ice pellets and freezing rain. I'll probably not bother shoveling it. It will be melted away by Sunday or Monday,
It's raining here in Texas. I actually do like rain, just not driving in it. Unfortunately, we had to go past downtown to pick up my dad's van, meaning driving in it, and fog. Had to pull over to defrost at one point it got so bad.
MGS2 did always seem kind of similar to MGS, which I guess is why I was never as up in arms about Raiden as everyone else, among other reasons.
As for Shovel Knight, well... I just need to come up with a project for Kickstarter.
Its cold, wet and rainy here where I live today. I swear the coldness is ridiclous, I dont know what the hell is up with mothernature but Im quite tired of her shit. It needs to be spring, not winter!
Recently Ive been working on Silent Hill Downpour and its nearly complete. Ill review it once its done, the weather is actually the perfect mood for finishing it even though Im sick of it,lol.
Only reason I'm not a fan of rain is my job. I wheel around a $20,000 portable x-ray machine that I don't like getting wet. I go around to nursing homes doing that, btw. It rained today and I got lucky, though. Most places had a covered entrance. Congrats on Shovel Knight, that is amazing. Sounds like it really took off quickly. As for cut scenes,I rarely skip them. In MGS games they are so well done. Have to see them or I feel I'm missing out.
Its been over cast, breezy high 70's last 2 days here in New Orleans, but we got 100% chance of rain tomorrow. Hope it clears before the weekend. We have the French Quarter Fest this weekend and aside from Fat Tuesday and Christmas Eve its one of our biggest money making events. As far as I'm concerned this extended winter is great, not looking forward to high 80's and 90's at 85% humidity that will consume us by the end of May. Even though I haven't played MSG2 in, well shit since it came out I may or may not skip the cut scenes when I play it again. Its been so long I don't really remember that much about the story, other than the Colonel speaking all that hilarious gibberish at the end.
Deju vu: You get that a lot playing MGS games. the 2nd Boss battle with Raven in MGS1 is similar to the Boss Battle with Fatman in MGS2 which is similar to the Boss Battle with The Spacman in MGS3. They all involve huge containers that resemble big blocks. with straight lines that you walk up and down and around. I used calymores to beat them in all three battles.
