Well hello Pixlpeeps, long time no talk. I have a good reason why I've been away for a week, the past week I was in Hawaii. I spent a week with the family, and playing tourist. Of course the trip over was full of drama, because it wouldn't be a trip to the islands without drama, but more on that during Quick Hits. For my blog entry today I'll talk about the games I played when I had some down time. Because of my trip to the Caribbean I decided to leave the 3DS XL, and also the Vita at home. It kind of defeats the purpose of buying a handheld to not bring it on a trip but I knew I wasn't going to play with either of them. I had my two tablets that have a ton of games, as well as books, TV/Movies, and other items to keep me busy while on my flights. After this past trip I think I'm going with just bringing my iPad alone instead of having both the iPad and the Android Tablet. Nothing against the Android tablet especially since it plays NES games, but other than that I really didn't use it.

During my trip I had a manageable three hour layover turn into a eight hour nightmare when not only was my plane changed and my seats were moved (Thank You to the wonderful staff at Sky Harbor for finding me awesome seats in the extra legroom section that I always book) the plane itself was delayed, so they brought in the backup plane. The backup plane then had fuel pump issues while taxing onto the runway and we then sat in the plane for an additional hour until they could fix it.

During our first delay American brought out food. Sandwiches, chips, fruit, soda, and water. It was a take as much as you wanted for our flight. Of course it wasn't marked as such so folks coming off other flights would grab a bag of chips or a sandwich. Anyways I got lucky and camped out next to an outlet so I spent a good four hours playing on my laptop

I got in some Dirt 3, as well a couple of games of NBA 2K16 as well as some NES sprinkled in because everyone has been caught up in the NES Classic craze. Also you folks who are selling them on eBay, I hope you folks are stuck with a ton of product. Anyways throughout the week I had maybe a couple of hours here and there that were free so I spent time playing on my tablets and laptop. It was more of the same games I've been playing and I realized some games needed a constant connection to the internet. A couple of nights I stayed at my father's new house and since he was waiting for the cable guy to come hook up his cable and WiFi, my phone's hotspot was my primary connection to the internet so some of those games that needed internet were out. I would only log into those games just to get daily bonuses, or check on the status and then log off. When this happened I stuck with Steam games and continued to play basketball or racing.

When I went to visit my uncle's house it was all internet for me, but I learned of a new game my 7 year old cousin was playing called Roblox. From what I saw he was basically playing Grand Theft Auto meets Minecraft. The only thing he was doing was some kind of battle where players run around and shoot at each other. He followed the rule of not talking to people online and spent the majority of the time flying around or shooting a rocket launcher. It's a browser based game but I didn't want to install it on my laptop so I played on his account and I'm not that good. From what he was telling me there are a ton of different games to play while playing as blocky characters but he seem to like the GTA world. I guess when there is a hacker in the game the game's sky changes into a picture, and the game warns other players about it.

Anyways that's really all I did game wise. I had a week on the islands so I was busy running around spending time with family and playing tourist. I'll go more into it during Quick Hits. Anyways I am still getting over the jet lag so I am going to hop off the internet and spend time with the new CDs I bought. Have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

do your cousin's parents make the the rule that he should not talk to people online?  I wish more people followed that rule ha ha.

Sounds like you were chillin during your delay but it was still a delay.  Are you going to post pics from Hawaii??

Yeah my aunt and uncle have the rule because of the things they see on TV. There are some weird folks out there. A lot of folks need to follow that rule. Heck if they did I would probably play online a lot more.

I'm going to post pics either on Friday or Monday, and yeah it was chillin' but my day started at 6am and I was really looking forward to sleeping on the plane and then spending some relaxation time on the islands.

My cousin works for Roblox.

If I ever go to Hawaii, I probably won't spend any time gaming. But then again, I won't be going there to visit family.

That's cool. I was a little hesitant to run it on my laptop because I haven't heard about it.

Oh believe me I wasn't planning on it, but there were moments when I was tired and I just wanted to rest. The positive was that I didn't keep up with what was on TV, new podcasts, what was happening on various websites (message boards) I just checked Twitter maybe once or twice a day and that was it.

If/when you visit Hawaii, I'd say bring the 3DS and just try to collect Mii's.

I watch my nephew do the same thing with Minecraft mods. What's with this "chase each other around" thing. Seems to be so entertaining to some people. I say, blah.
