Just Got Real

Been playing it since I got it in the mail. IT's 3AM and I'm playing it now. When I'm not playing it, I'm craving it. The combat is great, a lot of fun. The story is nice. The music is chill. The graphics are luscious. It's Final Fantasy at last!!!

I feel like I'm finally playing a modern Final Fantasy again. It feels so good. We'll see how it works out.....

ha ha actualy, it's pretty cool, Cary. It's not too dark and angsty, and it's got some whimsy to it as well.

I had it pre-ordered from amazon, and got an email on Sunday that is had been shipped and would arrive by 11/29. Yesterday I got the "arriving today by 8:00 PM" notice. At 10:00 PM last night I still had the "arriving today by 8:00 PM" notice. Today it just says "On the Way...Expected by Nov 29."

Hopefully I'll get it and be able to play it tonight. I guess an "on the way" message is better than a "delivered" notice when you know it hasn't been delivered. That's happened to me before (luckily amazon believed me and re-shipped it)

In other words, the shipper screwed up. Probably UPS. They suck. Hope it arrives today.

Tell Amazon Customer Service, and then ask for a free month of Prime. When the USPS was late with my order I let them know and got a free month of Prime.

Glad you like it. I went to buy it, but it's $80 here and I had to spend $1000 getting my car registered and then save for a holiday. Oh well, maybe I'll get it on the holiday and have something to play then.

Keen as fuck though. Playing through IX atm.

Is the battle system like FF XII? I found that one a little bit confusing.

it's more action based. The closest thing I can think of is Ninja Gaiden.

I heard on Axe of the Blood God podcast that you can switch between turn based and action based battles. They said the action based one was better though.

I got it to. Still getting used to the combat, as I love my traditional turn-based Final Fantasy, but it still looks like a good direction for the series.
