I miss Final Fantasy XIV. Maybe after I finish XV I'll need the fix.
Being Broke in Summer Sucks

Firstly, it's just hit Summer in Australia, and it's fucking hot. Like 37 degrees celsius, which is 99 degrees farenheit. And our A/C is broke atm.
Secondly, I'm broke a/f. Bought Bilby's Christmas present early (pokemon sun) and have to pay roughly 1k on car registration and then save up to go on a trip to house-sit for Bilby's grandmother. At least she has A/C and a pool.
Anyway, to take my mind off it, I decided to watch Donald Glover's new show Atlanta, which isn't helping since that show is literally all about being broke. It's a damn good show though. It's funny, smart, and incredibly depressing. It's like if Louie were about black culture.
Other than that, I've been playing some games. Dragon Quest VIII is the shit. It keeps making me smile and it looks really good on a PS2 emulator at 1080p. Like it could be a PS3 game almost. It's amazing how much of a difference resolution and AA makes on some of these games:
I also got Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy IX, Digimon Cyber Slueth, God of War III and Tales of Zestiria on sale. Digimon seems pretty good so far. Firstly, no it is not a pokemon rip-off. It's a Shin Megami Tensei ripoff with some Grandia elements. The combat system is actually pretty interesting, with you exploiting enemy weaknesses and killing off enemies based on turn order to get extra turns and whatnot. It's pretty fun and there seems like a lot to do in it.
Final Fantasy XIV has it's hooks in me hard. I'm a sucker for a good MMO, and this is a fucking good one. There's so much to do in it! I love the crafting system, I love the hunting log, and I LOVE that I can switch out my class on a whim to any other and level them all with one class and mix and match skills. My favourite thing though? It has tutorials that teach you how to play your role properly in dungeons, and those tutorials are incentivised through awesome looking armour and xp. It teaches you how to keep enemies attacking you if you're a tank, which enemies you should be attavking if you're dps and not aggroing enemies you shouldn't be. It's awesome and I wish every MMO did this.
And yeah, that's what I've been up to so far.
