Apparently using a new game engine.
It looks awesome I hope they stick to the Darksouls formula and stays true, if so this may be a GOTY contender and I cant wait to see how it evolves.
It's supposed to have better multiplayer somehow. More emphasis on PC version this time.
I love the dark atmosphere of the Souls games. This is going to be high on my list of games to get day one.
A day one purchase, and year long investment.

Take your genet...? I think that's probably a new move in the game. The whole series is about taking your genetelia in fact.
They have a hands on preveiw on xbox live IGN you all should check it out, it looks as good as the first one and just as tough, looks like it will stomp on you, then hand you your ass in a sack lol, looks great. and is high on my to get list as well.
Overkill. I think they even have a frame-by-frame analysis of the trailer.
I'm going to be a blasphemer and hope that this Dark Souls has a more coherent story. I've read intricate blogs of all my friends trying to decipher what the symbolism in the first DS means and as interesting as it all was it gave me a bit of a frustration headache!
I'm not saying this game should spill the beans on all the mysteries but it would be nice to have a narrative thread for my character and even a "romance" at some point. (And it's fine if that romance has a tragic Dark-Souls-esque twist. Aka, maybe my knight is in love with a ghost or his bride is found later and turns into a hideous monster)
Just start a fan fiction. I think adding exposition to the story might take away from the mystery of that world. The opening trailer to Demon Souls and character npcs give a little backstory, just enough to keep you interrested. I always felt as if it was the dark world in Zelda or FF6 otherworld. It does feel like a 3D castlevania actually.
Yea i have to agree half of the fun of the dark souls series is mystery not knowing makes it very original and if you can be one of the few to actually beat the game the story does become more clear.
This is a bit of a stretch BUT... i'm thinking that the Castle with the rope bridge at the 1:00 mark is Aremias' Painted World. But I'm wondering if it's pre-painting, and possibly Aremias' castle?
I know it's a stretch, but I got a feeling.. The Rope Bridge just seems all-too-familiar..
This is one of those games I have reserved and one of my most anticipated!
