You're damn right Ni no Kuni is a game worth owning. I love it. Unless there's a BIG surprise later in the year I'm quite sure Ni no Kuni will be my GOTY.
What's the story so far?

Due to work, I don't play a lot of games during the week. From Monday through Thursday (and whatever part of the weekend I choose to finish work before the next Monday), it's damn near impossible to play anything other than the short bursts of time I get from the Vita. I'm still giving plenty of attention to Plants Vs Zombies VIta (gotta build that Zen Garden, sell the plants so I can buy some more shit!).
I plan to keep fighting through Halo 4's campaign but that's not a game where I feel compelled to play its campaign for long hours unto completion. Last week I discovered the specializations tab. No wonder I wasn't leveling past 50 for some reason.
I've played Ni No Kuni for the past month and I decided to mail back my Gamefly copy and get something else (hopefully Tomb Raider or Bioshock Infinite); the reason being that it's currently for $40 at Amazon (Gamefly offers to let me keep the rental copy for $50). After a month of playtime, I'm convinced it's a game worth owning.
I finally gave Uncharted 3 multiplayer a chance and I was surprised at how fun it is. Plenty of customization options and modes. The competitive modes are what they are (and I suck at them) but the Arena co-op mode is pretty damn fun. If anyone wants to play this with me during weekends, send me an invite!
Other than that, that's all the gaming I can muster with the time I've been giving. I'll be so happy when the school season ends, the kids leave and I can switch to daytime hours and go to bed when most people do. This late night, graveyard shift stuff gets old pretty quick.
