I always like looking at people's gaming setups. It's interesting to see where people spend their time enjoying a hobby. I've been on the fence about the Steam controller but I do like the comfort of the 360 controller plus it is wired so I don't have to worry about charging. Anyways going back I dig your setups and how cool are you to let your son play his PC games on the TV.
What gaming looks like at my house. Part 1

Well it's the beginning of a new year and I've decided to start taking stock of what I have game wise and chronicle it here. Here's part of my physical game collection. I have a closet full of older games and systems too.
Maybe I'll get to them later.
Let's start with a blurry cat pic. Had to take it fast while Mouse was still holding the pose.
Now the games. First my PSP, DS (almost gone) 3DS, Wii U and the beginning of my Wii games
Now the rest of the Wii and PS3 games
The rest of my PS3 and most of my PS4 stuff. Also my Blu Ray movies/
Lastly what is left of my Xbox 360 games.
This is my main gaming setup. I've added my son's PC to the setup so he can play PC games on the television. The main setup is for PS4, PS3, Wii U and PC gaming. The rack on the right holds my music collection. On top of it is the Wii U gamepad and my huge collection of 3 Amiibos.
The TV's optical digital out is connected to a Digital to Analogue converter behind the TV. This feeds a Topping amplifier which in turn feeds the Paradigm speakers. Beside my amp is a a phono preamp that has yet to see any use. I still need to have my turntable overhauled.
Moving on to the secondary gaming room also known as my office. My office laptop is a core i7, 16 GB of RAM, 4 GB Geforce 950m graphics card and a 2 TB internal drive. I also added a 2TB USB 3.0 drive to help store my Steam games.
On my desk is my Steam controller. I'm not sure I like it. My biggest complaint is something that really has nothing to do with the controller. You have to use it in Big Picture mode and in that mode you are informed that games like Grandia II, Final Fantasy IX and others are not designed to work with a controller. WTF?
Yes you can download someone's custom config but half the time they don't work as you expect.
Best to stay in normal Steam mode and use a wired Xbox 360 controller
Now if I turn my office chair around I can game on my 360 or PS TV. I may add my PS2 at some point and maybe my Dreamcast too but most of my DC collection is gone and that might just be depressing
Anyway that's it for today. Maybe I'll haul out my older games for part 2 and then get into my digital collection (God help me.)
