Metal Gear was first released in Japan for the MSX2  Home computer in 1987!

Thirty Years Ago! (Thanks Joe). ( it was also released in Europe: source:metal gear wiki) 

So, for thirty years and how many Metal Gear games later, here is the Boss Fight that started it all.

I am The Shotmaker!

The shotmaker! The very first Boss. You are Snake and you have No Weapons! See the two panels at the bottom of the right hand side of screen?  That is where your weapons and items are displayed and both of them are empty.

The Shotmaker has a ( I think) a sawed off shotgun. From the spray of the weapon it appears to be a very powerful shotgun. It is so powerful that.....

No One Has Ever Escaped From Here!

Snake has to fight his first ever Boss Fight and he goes in with no weapons.

BY POUNDING HITLER IN THE FACE, creating a ripple effect that also kills this guy.

I think it's actually been thirty years since the release. If It was 20, I'd have been 7 when it came out.

I don't remember the last boss in the NES Metal Gear game.  I'm sure I didn't beat it, though.  I was too amused by running around as a box.

Tami:  yeah...thirty Years....even better!  I play on easy so it wasnt a hard fight at all. Three hits from the rocket launcher and it was over.

Can Snake use the box?

Chris:  You can use the box under normal conditions to sneak around cameras and past guards but I doubt it will work in a Boss Fight
